Lyrics for A Poetic Retelling of an Unfortunate Sed... as interpreted by weezerific:cutlery

A Poetic Retelling of an Unfortunate Sed... Lyrics
The language in the dimmer rooms
Seems to represent the light source well
How soft they speak and seem to be at peace
With the music and the madness that is pulling me into this
And the shades of the lamps are woven red
The light, it stains and consecrates
Anointing all forgotten forms that swirl and smoke
And haunt this place
The girls in gowns all nurse the dark
Pulling it near to their swelling breasts
And watch as it seeps to their hearts
And beats within their virgin chests
And here I know seduction breeds
From wanton hearts that would seduce
And grows and spreads it's vine and leaves
Embracing those who might have moved
But now remain to drink the night from vials black and thick
With intoxicating delights would leave you drunk
Inside this dream
And you watch them take the light from you
And you find yourself on a velvet couch
Tasting the skin of a foreign girl
Her eyes are black and wet like oil
And she ties your hands with a string of pearls
And you tremble like a frightened bird
As she closes in and captures you to place you
In a silver cage deep within her poisoned womb
So once you're safe inside, she might let you out
To fly in circles around the room
But it's always night and there is no moon
And you wonder if you are still alive
And you’re not sure if you want to be
But you drink her sweat like it was wine
And you lay with her on a bed of blue
And it's awful sweet
Like the fruit she cuts and feeds to you

I cant help but to think this song is about rape. But you never know. Conor, the poet who i wish i was. This is a amazing song, just like every other Bright Eyes song.

guy meets girl, girl will only cause more trouble for the guy, and he knows it as she seduces him, but he cannot tear himself away. he enjoys the seduction, but cannot break himself away. the song is absolutely amazing. everytime i hear it, a chill goes down my spine.

Conor is a beautiful writer. This is just another example of his brilliant work. He has a unique way of weaving words into a detailed picture, a vivid idea, the very room with dim red lights. It's wonderful.

this song just brings out a lot of things in me. not all i can say because i dont know who would be seeing this and knowing what it could do to them would be bad.. but anyway. i try to look at the words of songs to see if they could mean something else. conor seems to tell it like it is most of the time, but usually you can see that what hes saying...isnt what hes saying. i know this probably makes no sense to you, but i dont know.
i think that maybe it could be about him just being afraid in general about advancing in that way because of what it has done to him. and while the story is very vidid, it might just be how he feels about love, being strapped down like that, as if he were being raped by someone.
or you know i could be completely wrong and he could just be seeing a hooker or something. oh well.

i think that its more a girl trying to get him whilst hes with another girl. 'tasting the skin of a foriegn girl'...wishing you were dead, probably because you dont want to have to explain to the one you love...

I totally think that this song is about a brothel. It seems like he is writing about someones journey to find satisfaction. Sex is an amazing thing. However, in the situation mentioned in the song, by trying to fill this void it is only made larger. The person is to the point that they don't even care if they live or die.I don't think that this person is so much wanting sex but something else. They go to this whore house to feel loved, to feel someones arms around them, to feel the ultimate form of bond yet the only feeling the person ends up having is a greater sense of lonliness. It's a sad song, really.

Everyone thinks that you can have casual sex without it affecting you, but eventually, you realize that noone actually likes you.

God this song makes me cry every time..i take it as its about casual sex with someone..knowing you dont want to ..but maybe being so hurt from..some other event that you do it anyways..that happened to my boyfriend..he had casual sex with this..girl before we started dating because he was so hurt by what was going on with him and me at the time that he let himself be seduced i guess for revenge..but he has to live with that..every day..and i do to..and its not too fun.. this song really hits home..stirs up a lot of emotion

Lyrics amazing, but I can't get much into the musical part.Maybe it will grow on me-I'd rather read it right now-than listen to it.

anyway hail hail mighty metaphors!! I think it's about someone having his first intercourse because he "has" to,because it sort of happens and it's time (peer pressure, hormons whatever...),but not really wanting to do it.The last line-I think it refers to her virginity-the last lines are about a orgasm with no feelings...maybe I'm reading too much into it,but that really was my first interpretation.

Perfect interpretation, acoustic. Very nicely stated. That's exactly what I was trying to say but you managed to do it in one sentence. Props to acoustic.

I love this song and agree very much with "summerstars " its is almost about that I believe. I have also heard that not all his songs are about him, poets like him take other stories that touch them and write about them, I think he was doing that with this. who knows. I <3 conor.

A brothel and/or just a simple one-night stand, and the disgust, anguish and guilt that often comes with it.

Obviously, many of his songs are not abut Conor himself. I think they come out of a great sense of empathy, the reflections that he makes and so on. No one can so eloquently put to words what everybody feel at certain times.

this is such an insanely lyrical song.. the actual message of this in particular doesnt mean half as much as the obvious talent that was put into it.
