Freedom's all lies different walk away
You gotta hold your tongue you gotta hit it with the right of way
Maybe I blocked you from your intellectual scene
In a way insane in a way it's gotta be.
Red Sister might be choking but I ain't about that kind
Answer me with the rhythm of a body that was born to lose two times.
Hey big motor
He says that I'm a true fortune lie
Hang my shoulder
Big broken love, big broken knives

They might try to hide they have to answer mordant sins
You might be right like a hole in the wind
Poison daggers for the road mix broke down cross
Takes your head off the line
The flavor might be missing he has to cross that anyway
You can bet you can riddle with the brothers to the power of another day.

Hey big motor
He says the Night Patrol 49
Hang my shoulder
Big broken love, big broken knives

Doing it say I'm meat
Which one stole my time
Didn't you say you'd watch it?
Didn't I?
Evil stripped in me
Three more stripped in time.
Didn't you say you've got it?
Watch me...Ah!

General Comment:This is one of my favorite Melvins songs. However, the lyrics are difficult to hear correctly, let alone interpret. If you search for lyrics on Sing365 you will see that they are VERY different from the lyrics on this website. And I really have no idea which one is correct because none of lyrics are included in the liner notes.

I agree with the person who said the lyrics don't really have much of a meaning.

General Comment:First Melvins song I ever heard. Every aspect is just killer!... drumming, guitars, vocals and all. No fucking clue as to what it means... could possibly be nothing :S

General Comment:I love how this song changes moods. In the beginning and during the whole singing part its sorta heavy but when the guitar solo comes it gets a little softer and bluesier. Buzo's voice here reminds me of james hetfield. especially in the first verse. when i heard it the first time i thought it could even be one of the later, slower metallica songs. (Forgive me).
And for the meaning: Melvins Songs generally have no meaning. The Melvins just wanted not to fit the heavy metal cliche. And while other metal bands had lyrics about satan and war and drugs and stuff the Melvins' lyrics were about nothing at all. Same for the record cover artworks. Other metal bands have overdrawn satanic or fantasy or SF images on their albums but the Melvins had things like Swans or baskets full of fruit there. Thats another great aspects of one of the most overlooked bands of all time (besides Kyuss).
And the Melvins are the true inventors of Grunge. They existed long before Kurt Cobain founded Nirvana with Krist Novoselic.
All in all the Melvins rule.
