Lyrics for Freedom as interpreted by piesupreme

Freedom Lyrics
Uggh!
Pull, pull
Wuh! (Sung sorta like Michael Jackson)
Come on!
Uggh!
Solo, I'm a soloist on a solo list
Al live, never on a floppy disk
Inka, inka, bottle of ink
Paintings of rebellion
Drawn up by the thoughts I think

Yeah!
Come on!
The militant poet in once again, check it

It's set up like a deck of cards
They're sending us to early graves
For all the diamonds
They'll use a pair of clubs to beat the spades
With poetry I paint the pictures that hit
More like the murals that fit
Don't turn away
Get in front of it

Brotha, did ya forget ya name?
Did ya lose it on the wall
Playin' tic-tac-toe?

Yo, check the diagonal
Three brothers gone
Come on
Doesn't that make it three in a row?

Spoken quietly: "Anger is a gift"

Come on!
Uggh!

(Guitar solo)

Check that!
Uggh!
Come on
Yeah
Uggh

Brotha, did ya forget ya name?
Did ya lose it on the wall
Playin' tic-tac-toe?

Yo, check the diagonal
Three million gone
Come on
'Cause they're counting backwards to zero

Environment
The environment exceeding on the level
Of our unconciousness
For example
What does the billboard say
Come and play, come and play
Forget about the movement

Spoken quietly: "Anger is a gift"

Yeeeaaahhhh!
Uggh!
Awww, bring that shit in!
Uggh!
Hey!

Freedom...yea...
Freedom...yea right...
Freedom...yeeeaaahhh!
Freedom!
Yea!
Freedom!
Yea right!
Freedom!
Yea!
Freedom!
Yea!
Right!

Another song on govt and corporation control over the people. Often used for the fight to free Leanard Peltier, a Native American accused of rebellious acts and incarcerated unjustly for more than 20 years.

The anger is a gift bit - Stating the fact that if people never got angry, they wouldnt protest, make their voices heard. Maybe even fight for a just cause.

I was at a Story Of The Year concert the other night and they did a cover of this at it absoltuly kicked ass, but not even close to what Rage did with it. But it was still cool to see an emo/hardcore band cover one of the bands that influenced them.

i rekon its about the slave trade and / or the american civil war

It's set up like a deck of cards
They're sending us to early graves
For all the diamonds
They'll use a pair of clubs to beat the spades

note im not racist and i only think this part of the song is about the slave trade . american civil war.

sending ppl to an early grave for diamonds could be about slaves working in diamond mines

minidave666 i saw those lyrics in a similar way

I saw it as the diamonds (the rich) use a pair of clubs (police) to beat the spades (working classes)
What does anyone else think? and this band are unbelievable. If I can write a song half as good as this band can I will die a very happy man.

Hey!

I find it amusing when people post these sounds as part of the lyrics.

I really like the deck of cards explanation, but I don't understand the "tic-tac-to" references.

"The environment exceeding on the level
Of our unconciousness
For example
What does the billboard say
Come and play, come and play
Forget about the movement"

I think maybe this is about the government turning the Native Americans' land into casinos ("come and play"), which are one cause of Native Americans' gambling problems.

People got most of what I was going to say...

The "3 million gone, come on, 'cause you know they're counting backwards to zero..." might be a reference to the AIDS conspiracy, that the US government created AIDS and unleashed it upon African blacks and gays to reduce the "undesirable" population. In 1992, about 3 million people had died of AIDS and there was still no government response.

God I love this song, and band

But this song is about like raping indians of there land and the government "unleashing" AIDS
