Solo, I'm a soloist on a solo list
All live, never on a floppy disk
Inka, inka, bottle of ink
Paintings of rebellion
Drawn up by the thoughts I think

It's set uplike a deck of cards
They're sending us to early graves
For all the diamonds
They'll use a pair of clubs to beat the spades
With poetry I paint the pictures that hit
More than the murals that fit
Don't turn away
Get in front of it

[Chorus]
Brotha did ya frget my name
Did ya lose it on the wall
Playin' tic-tac-toe

Yo, check the diagonal
Three brothers gone
Come on
Doesn't that make it three in a row
Anger is a gift

[Chorus]

Yo, check the diagonal
Three million gone
Come on
'Cause ya know they're counting backwards to zero

Environment
The environment exceeding on the level
Of our unconsciousness
For example
What does the billboard say
Come and play, come and play
Forget about the movement
Anger is a gift

Freedom, freedom, yea right

General Comment:This song is about the goosebumps that Zach provokes during the last minute of this song. That is passion, friends.

General Comment:These are not the rage against the machine lyrics. These are written by someone else.

My Interpretation:I don't think anyone is wrong here. I think this song was left open enough for you to relate it to the closest case of oppresion you see. The swastika is on a diagonal, millions died during that time, obviously, and the wall can relate to the Berlin wall.

General Comment:guess 3 mill could be those that have died from the Atlantic slavetrade working on American cotton and such. Or Indians. .. kinda comes down to the same thing. Excellent point about the AIDS virus and the US gov. never thought bout that.

the diamonds part immediately brought up blood diamonds.
early graves - child labour in African diamond mines and the child soldiers used in wars centered around the riches, which ultimately are sourced from Western companies buying these diamonds . . .the status symbols craved by their elites.

General Comment:ALright Let me try this..

First verse is about the indian guy who is mentioned already by someone else as a response
and because of what happened to him, zachs thoughts come out..he is the militant poet..

Second verse ...Diamonds r Diamonds, clubs r clubs (police clubs)and a spade is a slang term for a coloured person.

Brotha, did ya forget ya name?
Did ya lose it on the wall
    Playin' tic-tac-toe?

Playing a game distracts u from what really is goin on
U play tic tac toe, the government plays games to (killing poeple)
Check the diagonal(diagonal line goin down) 3 million gone comon (3 mill dead) Counting backwards to zero(diagonal line goin down and the game they play while u play tic tac toe)...

General Comment:After the guitar solo it sounds like Zach says "drop that" but I could be mistaken, either way its a wicked song. One of the best from RATM's first album
