This is just a really funny song, in a way. Haven't you ever looked at someone across the room and just gone to yourself, "That guy (or girl) is so cute? She (he) looks like someone I'd like to know." And yet you don't go up to them and then you totally regret it. It's just funny that way.

I have actually had this song help me out a little, I had this song on my AIM profile, and this one girl I like saw it, and thought it was kinda sweet, and since I liked music like that, she thought I was sweet, and she was the girl I related the song to.

I agree with all of you, Green day is AMAZING! and yep I think we all have been in a similar situation, watching someone that you like and you want to go and talk to them, but you don't have enough courage... so before you know, this person is gone, and you'd wished you had been more brave to go on, and talk.

oh yeah, and also, if any of you have the copy of the raido show (radio daze) billie joe sings "She walked away with my best friend" instead of 'her boyfriend' i dont know if that means anything, or if he just decided to sing it different.

I LOVE this song. When I heard 17-year-old Billie singing the lines:

I can't quite describe what happened to me, but I was a goner. Drank the kool-aide. Got the tattoo. Billie sure knows how to pull the pin on your heart. And I sure know how to let him.

I heard only a sample of this song.
I really wanna own this album ,since we were at the mall I went to 2 or 3 ( I forgot) record stores looking for greendays old album specifically this all the stores didnt have them only AI ,..oh well

The instrumentals and lyrics to this song sound VERY happy at first........but at least in my head after hearing this one a few times i can hear alot of pain in Billie Joe's voice...pain that probably hasnt gone away....this probably wasnt just a he had a 10 min crush on.......maybe someone he really wanted but never had a chance with...that seems to be his style (i am also convinced that my personal lyrical style has been greatly influenced by Billie Joe)
