Ok, no offense, but everyone here is wrong. It is not "burn crosses" it is "bore crosses". The lyrics are "some of those that were forces are the same that bore crosses". The song is not about police brutality or the KKK or anything like that. It's about people killing in the name of god, or religion. It is saying that some of those that were forces (in the military) are the same that wear crosses (subscribe to Christianity), and how it's hypocritical for someone who claims to be a Christian to kill people. And when they die, their cross acts like a badge, proclaiming them to be the "chosen whites", and so the whole thing is considered justified. It's really pretty easy to figure out, too bad the site has the wrong lyrics.
I agree that the song is partly about the hypocrisy of religion with its involvement in war & discreetly promoting non-peaceful attitudes, but I also think it's about the hypocrisy of the Law also (or human instituted forms of protecting morality). "Killing in the name of" refers to the concept of acting as some representative for God or the Law (or really Morality) when you have no authority outside of what other humans have given you. However the line is "those who died are justified by wearing their badge & their clothes in white". White clothes here may mean "purity" which is the facade of acting in the name of God or the Law to commit murderous crimes. These facades are used to justify killing people who get in the way of their real agenda. <br /> <br /> These people are hypocrites because their badge or cross or "white clothes" say they are one thing (a person for peace & protecting others), but they act in another way (using their power to persecute, hurt & even kill others). <br /> <br /> Blindly following these institutions is doing "what they told ya" & being "under control".

@flamebroiledchicken No offense, but you're wrong. I just listened to a high-quality copy of the song with my Sennheiser HD 600 headphones, at a volume that was disturbingly loud. I also slowed it down to 0.5 and 0.6 speed at times.<br /> <br /> He says "burn crosses," not "bore crosses." It's pretty easy to distinguish the "uh" sound from the "oh" sound (i.e. "burn" vs. "bore").<br /> <br /> I wish you were right, because I could relate to the song more that way. But you're not.<br /> <br /> Also, with your mistaken interpretation, the phrase "chosen whites" makes no sense. Since he says "burn crosses," that phrase makes total sense.

@flamebroiledchicken if you just listen to the song they clearly say "burn crosses" lol this song is not about Christians. It's about police and governmental control. The police and those in control are the chosen ones who can justify those who die. It's very clear what they mean.
