Killing in the Name Lyrics
Killing in the name of

Some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses

Killing in the name of
Killing in the name of

And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
But now you do what they told ya
Well now you do what they told ya

Those who died are justified, for wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites
You justify those that died by wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites
Those who died are justified, for wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites
You justify those that died by wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites

Some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses

Killing in the name of
Killing in the name of

And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya, now you're under control
And now you do what they told ya, now you're under control
And now you do what they told ya, now you're under control
And now you do what they told ya, now you're under control
And now you do what they told ya, now you're under control
And now you do what they told ya, now you're under control
And now you do what they told ya, now you're under control
And now you do what they told ya

Those who died are justified, for wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites
You justify those that died by wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites
Those who died are justified, for wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites
You justify those that died by wearing the badge, they're the chosen whites
Come on!

Yeah! Come on!

Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me

dont get rage's message wrong. too many people call themselves rage fans because they are anti-goverment. ok, i agree, but RATM's reason for hating the goverment was because of how it uses other countries the keep itself going. in an interview, Zack de la Rocha said " we dont hate the goverment for how it treats us, we hate it because it is a machine that uses the blood of others to keep itself afloat."
So, if you hate the goverment because it wont let you smoke your pot and get drunk wherever you want to you're dumb. the U.S. goverment treats its citizens better than any country in the world does. RATM's purpose was to reveal what the rich goverments were doing wrong to the smaller countries. Screwing the small countries over just so they can "keep themselves afloat"

therefor, if you like rage because they stand against the goverment, have a reason for it. and if you like this song just because of the lines "**** you i wont do what ya tell me" you like it for the wrong reason.

An anti-racist anthem.
For those dumb fucks out there, "Stop In the NAME of the Law" Hence the "Killing in the NAME" which makes perfect sense because if you add the last bit on, "Killing in the Name of the Law" Backs up the idea of the corruption in the police force and government and the theory about being asked to go to war.
This song is not about religion, but it can if you want it to be.

Also, quite frankly, for those anarchists out there, maybe you should explain this to me because I'm having trouble grasping with this concept. The fact that you want the government to fall and never return is suggestive of absolutely no order, which means chaos on the streets everywhere.
So we got Murderers, Rapists, Paedophiles and Psychos running round on the streets because there is not police to put them in line, there are no jails because they are paid for and built by the state. Jobs are completly useless as their wages come from the government no matter which way you look at it, because every company has to be verified by the government.
So, essentially the only way to make money is rob other people, People who are most likely innocent.
So my question to you anarchists is this; Why The fuck would you want to bring down the government?
But It doesn't matter does it? Because you're just teenagers that have nothing left to rebel against.
All I can say is shut the fuck up, get a job, get a bf/gf, get promoted, get married, get promoted again, have kids because now you can afford it, raise the kids well so the next generation doesn't act JUST LIKE YOU, and then die.

This song is just fucking ace, I wrote all of what i just said whilst listening to it, thats why i was so pissed off. Really energetic and angry.

Fuck you! I won't do what you tell me!

Also, Rage Against the Machine aren't anarchists, they're socialists which is quite a bit different.

To MKPUNK

anarchy is the absence of government. therefore a lack of government would mean businesses could not be owned by this non-existant government. capitalist is where business is privately owned. if someone was anti capitalist they would advocate capitalism, which would mean business was owned by a strong central government. therefore it's impossible to be both anarchistic and anti-capitalist. follow?

thats completley wrong, being anti-capitalist means you are anti-private property, anarchy gets rid of private property and all for-profit business...a communist is just like an anarchist except that the anarchist wants the state destroyed NOW, the communists want the state to wither away tomorrow.

i dont think this song should have been on guitar hero. A) because people look right past the meaning of the song and B) because its easier to play on a real guitar!

and i think this song is about whites having so much power and other races being stepped on by whites...probably because tom morello is half kenyan.

thanks to all of you for helping me realize what rages songs specifically mean.

This is one of those songs that I really haven't thought about the meaning of it. But I like listening to it... especially the guitar at the beginning. Wonderful... wonderful.

PearlJam,
FUCKING THANK YOU!!
Back to the song.
A'ight, some of those/burn crosses: kkk, old news. There are racist gov't officials. Of course there are! It's the US government (Brits gtfo my song, it's Yankee business, teabaggers XD). 'For bearing/chosen whites': said groups give members the 'title' of the group which supposedly makes them better than every outsider (wtf?).
Now, if all of this is to say "I'm not listening to ppl like this", rock on.

If it's to say "two or three of these bastards are in the government, therefor I shall be anarchistic...
T_T

Btw MKPunk wtf's God have to do with it?
The KKK uses convenient Christianity to help their members lack guilt. The KKK are not accepted in the Church. Plus, the Church hasn't had a holy war since the Crusades.
Other religious groups are accepted. They're "exotic". The Christians are the prosecuted, not the maniacs. Don't mix us up with Muslims.

this song means to me about how they justify juveniles being killed by racist police officers because the officers have a liscence to kill. I think its disgusting how u can give anyone who passes a qualification test a badge and a gun and the right to kill a kid.

I believe it's "While wearing the badge of the chosen one" Instead of "The Chosen whites", I may be wrong, But, In that case it seems to me he'd be talking about religion, And cults, In any case, Things are relevant only to us, We can never find the artist's original meaning on our own.

Presenting, the shit, whiny, overrated pathetic vocalist that Zach de la Rocha is, he ruins the song with him simply repeating the exact same thing over and over, showing his shit lyrics. But at the end he tries swearing to make him look like a tough guy when I'm sure anyone could knock him out with even trying. Whining about stuff such as war politics etc. while he runs off with the money, fucking overrated hypocrite, but that's Zach De la Rocha, the laughing stock of the rock world
