    General Comment:RE the "It breaks my heart to see you hanging from your shelf" - She has a boyfriend, and it breaks his heart that she's been put away on this shelf where he can't get her. Kinda like in Toy Story when Woody's put on the shelf out of the way.

    Incredible lyrics, incredible tune, incredible video, incredibly hot lead man. Not so much now with the beard, though.

    General Comment:I interpret the "hanging from a shelf" line as in it breaks his heart to see her 'up for grabs', so to speak, instead of with him, as in she is on display in a store or something. He can't stand to think of her in love with someone else so obviously he doesn't like the idea of other guys thinking about having a relationship with her. Since she won't go out with him, she is technically 'on disply' or 'back on the market' or whatever the phrase is. It has NOTHING to do with suicide or hanging somebody.

    General Comment:I agree with everyone that Rivers is cute in the muppet video, but I think Scott is hott! lol

    It's kinda like Rivers is the nerdy guy who falls in love with the hot girl, who rejects him. And I think the shelf thing meant that he hates to see the girl desperately looking for other guys, when he would gladly be with her. That's just my interpretation.

    General Comment:my ex basically told me he feels we have no future and he wants to be selfish by not working on our relationship and to only have responsibility over himself. jerk, yes, but he apologized and he really wants to be his own person.

    General Comment:well i think the meaning of this song is about him being in love with girl who isnt so sure about her feelings for him, the guy thinks it's better if she keep fishing (metaphor), although he so confident that no matter what he'll find the one and that one could be him.. noone will lose at all.. its better for the truth than pretend at all.. suckaz.!!!!

    General Comment:i think the whole "shelf" thing is like saying "i told you so and now your mistake makes me sad" kind of like when i tried to give one guy advice about his girlfriend and he basically ignored my advice and now he doesn't seem so happy. :( ...and i still keep his letter.
