Here comes the cold
Break out the winter clothes
And find a love to call your own
You, enter you
Your cheeks a shade of pink
And the rest of you in powder blue

Who knows what will be
But I'll make you this guarantee

No way November will see our goodbye
When it comes to December it's obvious why
No one wants to be alone at Christmas time

In the dark, on the phone
You tell me the names of your brothers
And your favorite colors
I'm learning you
And when it snows again
We'll take a walk outside
And search the sky
Like children do
I'll say to you

No way November will see our goodbye
When it comes to December it's obvious why
No one wants to be alone at Christmas time
And come January we're frozen inside
Making new resolutions a hundred times
February, won't you be my valentine?

And we'll both be safe 'til St. Patrick's Day

We should take a ride tonight around the town
and look around at all the beautiful houses
something in the way that blue lights on a black night
can make you feel more
everybody, it seems to me, just wants to be
just like you and me

No one wants to be alone at Christmas time
Come January we're frozen inside
Making new resolutions a hundred times
February, won't you be my valentine?

And if our always is all that we gave
And we someday take that away
I'll be alright if it was just 'til St. Patrick's Day

Memory:A little bit of a different view of the song... I lost my dad on St. Patrick's Day of 2004 when I was 8 years old. No way November would see our goodbyes, because we started spending more time together. Then Christmas came, and January, and then he was my Valentine... And we'd both be safe until St. Patrick's Day.

General Comment:To me this song is about how people usually find someone to make theirs in the wintertime and by the time march comes the weather is getting warmer and hes thinking that she may of used him as a fill for a lonely winter.

General Comment:so i didnt really read what i thought this was about but i just skimmed it.

i think its about not wanting to be alon on the holidays,
so that is what is keepingh them together.

"No way November will see our goodbye"
thanksgiving, do you really want to be single then

"When it comes to December it's obvious why
No one wants to be alone at Christmas time"
    says iit right

"And come January we're frozen inside
Making new resolutions a hundred times"
starting the year off being single isnt going to happen

"February, won't you be my valentine?"
february is one of the worst months to be single

"And we'll both be safe 'til St. Patrrick's Day"
st.patricks is one of the last important holidays for a while
so if they break up they wont have to face family holidays alone

    make sense?

General Comment:this is one of my favorite songs, it's like a rainy day song, but i agree , it could be a song to listen to when you're in new york city at christmas time.

But yeah, this song is amazing!
It's definitely about a temporary relationship, but I think it's just because they're both lonely.
I love this because everyone feels like they need someone to love them, or at least pretend like they do around the holidays, especially around the holidays. You feel so lonely so you get to know someone and they'll be someone you can be with for those times,

Thanksgiving, christmas, new year's, valentine's day

It's kinda like having a valentine on valentine's day, not because you love the person, but because you dont want to be alone. So you say words you don't mean, and stuff like that.

I love this song so much because it's so bittersweet in a way, and everyone feels like this,
I know i had a relationship that only lasted from christmas time to a little after valentine's day,

General Comment:My take on the song is simple. Through out the year, it's always nice to have a significant other. You're able to share moments with, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Valentine's Day. The year is filled with holidays that commemerate love and relationships. SO when he says to wait until St. Patick's Day, I think it means that its one holiday that doesn't promote love. In fact, I think he could "drink" his problems away becasue of the promotion of alcohol. It would help him, supposedly, get over her. Plus, there wouldn't be another "love" holiday for a while, maybe it would be enough time to get over her.

General Comment:i agree with you, missmayerxo - i think what hes trying to say is there is a mediocre relationship here, and through the holidays this couple feels obligated to be together, at least until St. Patricks day.

    in other words:

"with all these holidays, we should be safe until St. Patricks day, then im thinking its not going to last because without things to celebrate this will probably end"

HAPPY ST PATRICKS DAY! ( :

General Comment:Well ya know.this song is about being in a relationship thats not bad or anything but neither of your are really into it you just dont know when/dont want to break up.
and the timing seems all wrong.
