And the actress is relayed
and the actor comes home late
And the plays have gone down
the crowds have scattered way
Neath the city lights and the street
No ticket could be beat
for the beautiful show of shows
Ah, Broadway only knows
The great white Milky Way
it had something to say
When he fell down on his knees
after soaring through the air
With nothing to hold him there
It was really not so cute
to play without a parachute
As he stood upon the ledge
looking out, he thought he saw a crock

And he hollered: Look, there are the bells
And he said: Now, here come the bells
Here come the bells, here come the bells
Here come the bells

Here come the bells X4

General Comment:I've seen an interview with Lou where he's explaining this one, and it basically amounts to: it's the motherfucking bells!

General Comment:It is a truly amazing piece of music, I think the moody instrumental section lends alot more meaning to this song than the words themselves.

I think its kindof a looking back type song for Lou, kindof like a midlife crisis, looking back and realizing he was getting old, and that all the parties and the sex and the drugs were no longer possible, maybe? I don't know, definitely one of his more introspective songs. I think that "the Bells" are supposed to bbe something to the effect of his past catching up with him.
