Here the lights fall just as hard
A bit softer in the stall
It's not really wrong
It's not really right
I'm wide awake

She's upfront, upshot
Upstart up in every case
The kind of girl that whispers
Thank god for you
Oh yeah, all you got/need is me

Her confusion is in
The night that I stumbled
It's in the morning
That I that I struggled
Because I start to forget
But she will always remember
The kind of girl who laughs and says
Get up off your knees
Oh yeah, all you need/want is me

So you come and so you go
Tell me how hard how fast
Baby, tell me how high I must go
Tell me what you want
And tell me what you need
Tell me how hard, how fast, baby,
How high I must go
Oh yeah, well all you need is me
This is the time of my life

    General Comment:My POV:
The verse: her confusion is in the night
    that I stumbled
it's in the morning that I
    that I struggled
because I start to forget but
    she will always remember
the kind of girl who laughs and says
    "get up off your knees,"
Sara is saying that this girl is confused at night, when they are together sexually. During the day the girl is straight, that's why there's no confusion for her during the day. But Sara struggles in the morning, because that's when she wakes up next to her friend and realizes she actually likes her in a real, not just experimenting kind of way. But the girl just wants to laugh it off and forget about it.
The rest of the song feels very sexual to me, and is more likely describing what happens when they are fooling around. I think it is showing the learning curve, of your first few times with someone and figuring out what they like. The girl has to tell Sara what she wants still (hard, fast, up) and Sara likes being needed and wanted, especially in that way.
So all in all, I think it's a coming to terms with your sexuality song, even if the girl you are experimenting with doesn't feel the same way.

General Comment:I think jenniwilliams and danilenae are both right.
I figured it was hardcore about sex, the bridge spells that out pretty well. But the first verse seems to be describing the ambiance of the bathroom stall. That is, drunken sex in the bathroom, and then coming back to reality with a hangover and having the previous night's occurrences taking weight.
When looking at it more critically that way, the last line of the second verse spells a damn clear picture of what may have happened.
That's what I think about it, I could be wrong. I <3<3<3 this song.

General Comment:I acctually agree with danilenae . i also think it's about sleeping with a girl . the bridge

(so you come and so you go
tell me how hard, how fast
baby, tell me how high I must go)

    Especially indicates this .

I seriously think this is about getting it on, maybe in a bathroom stall ;)

General Comment:i always thought this was about a couple (no matter what genders), and person 1 feels that they are not good enough for person 2, by listing their good qualities followed by "all you got is me" , person 1 thinks person 2 deserves better, but is so grateful for their love.

General Comment:I don't know what I think about the whole "drunken night" interpretation of the song. I think maybe that's a part of it, but I feel like there's more to it than that.

The beginning definitely suggests that a relationship was taken to another level and that the subject (girl 2) is much more comfortable with that than the narrator (girl 1). Then comes the chorus. This is where I think a piece was missing from the other interpretations of this song. It sounds like at the point the song was written girl 1 is more comfortable with the relationship (i.e. the idea of a gay relationship), but she can't understand why girl 2 is interested in her. "All you got is me, All you want is me."

I do think that the lyrics suggest at first that girl 1 was hesitant, but only because of her own insecurity. The last line "This is the time of my life," shows that she doesn't regret getting into this relationship.

General Comment:"t's not really wrong, it's not really right
    I'm wide awake"

welcome to the world of most gay people who have just reakized which way they lean. Is it right? Is it wrong? Who the hell knows.

"her confusion is in the night
    that I stumbled
it's in the morning that I
    that I struggled
because I start to forget but
    she will always remember"

sounds an awful lot like she (friend 1) took a relationship w. a friend (friend 2) to the next level...and friend 2 is confused about supposedly straight friend 1s behavior the night that she "stumbled". Friend 1 "struggles" in the morning when she realizes what she has done. She begins to forget, but friend 2 will always remember. In the end, fiend 1 finds that all she ever needed was friend 2 so this amazing relationship begins to take shape.
