DND
Now they'll leave us alone

DND
Now you turn off the phone
How like you to make the whole world disappear and
How like you to make everything seem so clear and
How like you to make me want to stay forever
Here behind your door

DND
Hang the sign on the door
DND
Don't disturb us no more

How like you to make your love my hideaway and
How like you to make my troubles slide away and
How like you to make me want to play forever
Here behind your door

Minute I got some space and time I wanted to get me back in the crowd
Minute I got some peace you found me trying to make my way to the loud
What a clown

DND
Leave the hotel at noon
DND
Will I see you soon?

How like you to make the whole world disappear and
How like you to make everything seem so clear and
How like you to make me want to stay forever
Here behind your door

DND
DND
DND
Now they'll leave us alone

    DND
    Don't disturb us no more"

can it be any more obvious!

Whoever she is (secret lover, hooker, one-night stand) he knows that once it is over he has to go back to reality again.

General Comment:this song is so pretty! I love semisonic, it's so sad they sort of died out after closing time :(. Anyway, yea it's obviously do not disturb. I think he's talking about a girl who he isn't in a relationship with, but he has some sort of intense physical chemistry with her all the same. When they're together in a hotel room, he's talking about how he nver wants the moment to end because this is so much better than reality

General Comment:Obviously, DND stands for Do Not Disturb, but it is pretty funny in the context of Dungeons and Dragons.

"How like you to make me want to play forever..."

General Comment:def. not dungeons and dragons.
    beautiful beautiful song.
from the lines, "leave the hotel at noon/will i see you soon", i interpret it as two trying to hide their relationship from friends/family, two trying to hide their affair, or lovers who are pretending to be strangers or one-night-stands to reignite the flames.

General Comment:just to elaborate more, its that special influence a significant other has on you, and takes you to a diffrent place, in your own little world, no matter if you are in a crowd or together

General Comment:DND...do not disturb, like the sign you'd hang on a door in a hotel, the song is about finding that person who can take you somewhere else when it's just the two of you
