This song is about how you sit and think about how you imagine love will be. The little details you think about, how the situation will be. Then it doesn't ever happen exactly as its planned. Love starts as as a fantasy and ends in a reality.

When it comes to love/relationship issues, Rufus is a master. He sings of love as it really is and not tries to make love seem perfect because it never will be but we just have to keep on trying and continue loving...

This is one of my top 4 favorite Rufus songs! The lyrics seem to change in tone and just...in words of Lennon...imagine.
