The Earth it did crack open
On the day that I was born
And a thousand merry pranksters
Came dancin' through the storm.

I lay cradle bound
A howlin' out my mind
Not knowin' years to come
I'd be shoutin' over din

I sucked information through the holes in my skull
As my belly gurgles hungry my mouth is always full.

I am Antipop, I'll run against the grain till the day I drop.
I am the Antipop, the man you cannot stop.

As a young man,
I plug into the tube,
But the stench of all that pretense
I cannot muddle through.

I lay on my back
And scan the radio
All that comes out my speakers
Is a steady syrup flow.

I suck information through the holes in my skull
As my belly gurgles hungry my mouth is always full.

I stood by watching
And I seen 'em come and go.
I seen 'em make that million
Then vanish in the snow.

They come upon you
Like a pack of rabid hounds
As they slobber in your ears
And purge you with their sounds.

Pushing misinformation through the holes in my skull
My belly gurgles nauseous and still my mouth is full.

I am Antipop, I'll run against the grain till the day I drop.
I am the Antipop, the man you cannot stop.

General Comment:I think when he says "I stand there watching as i see them come and go i seen 'em make that millon then vanish
in the snow" I think he means there money along with them vanishes because all they spend it on is coke aka snow

General Comment:The syrup flow thing is about consonant sounding music...Stuff on the radio never has any dissonance/bitter moments - it's like pure syrup/consonance
Without any disonance, music becomes bland and predictable.

General Comment:I also think it's similar to one of system of a down's views about constant information flow from things like the T.V and radio. That's why he refers to the information as food, because as humans we are always trying to digest the information we are fed, and sometimes (If not most of the time) the information is biased or just dead wrong, which is why he says his stomach his nauseous but his mouth is still full because a human can never stop taking in information, especially if the T.V is on.

General Comment:i love the "all that came out of my speakers was a steady syrup flow" part... im assuming its cuz like syrup is etremely homogenous and its like eerything that comes out of the radio these day is the same exact thing like eerything sounds the same.

General Comment:ok first off I completly agree with Sodaman.

The intro is a parody of the Black Sabbath song titled strangely enough Black sabbath.

The meaning is pretty obvious, its expressing how shallow pop culture is.

General Comment:If i were female and a bassist, les claypool would be the love of my life.

But I am not female, and Im not a bassist, therefore I just worship him.

General Comment:This is my favorite Primus song
I think it has a great representation of what pop music is like.

General Comment:This song expresses Claypool's hatred for the get-rich-quick discardable music that is the "pop" genre. He was put on this earth to destroy the pop stars by taking their money and fans away. If only he alone could. If only.
