It's automatic
I need to unload
Under the pressure
Gone middle of the road
Fall into fashion
Fall out again
We stick together
'Cause it never ends

Here comes a low
I'm a boy and you're a girl
Here comes a high
The only ones in the world
Here comes everything
You and me can work it out
Here it comes
You, me, we'll work it out!

Here comes tomorrow
1 2 3 episodes
We stick together
Gone middle of the road
'Cause that's entertainment
It's the sound of the wheel
It rolls on forever
You know how good it feels

Here comes a low
I'm a boy and you're a girl
Here comes a high
The only ones that's in the world
Here comes everything
We're like monkeys out in the space
Here it comes
We are members of the human race
You, me, we'll work it out!

It's automatic
I need to unload
Under the pressure
Gone middle of the road
Fall into fashion
Fall out again
We stick together
'Cause it never ends

Here comes a low
I'm a boy and you're a girl
Here comes a high
You're the only one that's in the world
Here comes everything
You and me can work it out
Here it comes
You, me, we'll work it out!

General Comment:It's about deciding to make 'middle of the road' and non-threatening music in order to get lots of money (ironic, since this album was Blur's most strange and non-middle-of-the-road album they'd released at the time).

"fall out of fashion, fall back again"- sarcastically saying that being bland will never go out of fashion

    "i'm a boy and you're a girl"- referencing cliche'd love song lyrics

General Comment:David Bowie actually has half of the rights to this song. The chorus is almost exaclty identical to his song "Boys Keep Swinging."

    General Comment:the song is called .M.iddle .O.f the .R.oad

so its obviously about the concept, as applied to the music industy.

    Under the pressure
    Gone middle of the road

i think these lines represent wat band such as blur 'could' do, or band that 'have' done.
not selling out as such, but making thier music available so that it doesnt go in or out of fashion.

however, this song can also be about relationships.

    i think its both.

General Comment:This song is obviously about Justine Frischmann and Damon. They alwAYS had problems about the fact that they were apart the most of the time, so they had to work it out. Be aware of the line I'm a boy and you're a girl

General Comment:It's about both those thing, it's about sticking with blur as mates throughout the highs and lows of the music industry. Wish Graham would listen to this...
