    General Comment:I love this song and have come to have an opinion on the thesis this song gives me. First, I think that this song does have something to do with a girl, maybe not named Amber, and maybe not having an Amber energy, but maybe he gets the feeling that amber gives him when he sees her. A calming and happy feeling if you will. But, I do think the songs main meaning doesn't have to do with a girl, but fighting to be with a girl that maybe harder to be with because she lives far away. I would like to point out the line "Nothing good comes easily, Sometimes you've got to fight". I believe that this means that sometimes you have to fight for true love, because true love isn't a gift, it's a prize.

    Song Meaning:I really don't know how I thought of this as a sort of meaning but it kinda sounds like he's telling a story about him and his girl in a very nature like place. Mainly because amber is color of bark on trees ("Whoa amber is the color of your energy") and his girlfriend is amazingly beautiful to him ("Whoa shades of gold display naturally")

    My Opinion:if i had to guess, its about LSD, because amber is a type of LSD if you will, more like a "grade" of lsd (also known as acid). and because he talks about brainstorming and energy, which if you have ever tripped on anything you know what he is talking about. as far as the girl, LSD is also know as lucy, which he could be reffering to. just my 2 cents

    My Interpretation:I think he could be referring to the color of the girl's aura, or her energy. It is said that every person emanates color depending on their state of mind/body/spirit, though it can only be detected with a special camera that capturates it. In any case, amber means "individual strength and courage", and golden yellow ("shades of gold display naturally") means "inspirational thought". No matter what he really meant, if it was the name of a girl, or even the color of the girl's hair, I think is a beautifull song :)

    General Comment:Wow this song hits deep. In college I was absolutely in love with my friend. He had no idea (well let's be real it slipped at times) We both told each other we loved each other in drunken situations....

    Amber was the color of his energy... (which happens to be my favorite color & jewelry)
    I was so in love, he glided thorough my head blind to fear...
    Although we always held each other at such a distance.. Brainstorm, take me away from the norm (out friendship)

    But I always felt that I never wanted him to give up his independence unless it felt right...

    General Comment:The one good thing about this song is that 311 plays it every show at a perfect spot so you can take a piss and not miss a GOOD song.

    This song totally fucks up the flow of an otherwise stellar From Chaos.

    Oh and as for the name Amber...guess what P-Nut's wife's name is?
