Lyrics for Time After Time as interpreted by Cookie175

Time After Time Lyrics
Lying in my bed, I hear
The clock tick and think of you
Caught up in circles
Confusion is nothing new
Flashback, warm nights
Almost left behind
A suitcase of memories
Time after...
Sometimes you picture me
I'm walking too far ahead
You call out to me
I can't hear what you've said
You say, "Go slow, I fall behind."
The second hand unwinds

If you're lost you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you I will be waiting
Time after time
After my picture fades And darkness has turned to gray
Watching through windows
You're wondering if I'm okay
Secrets stolen, from deep inside
The drum beats out of time

You said, "Go slow, I fall behind."
The second hand unwinds

Time after time
Time after time
Time after time
Time after time

This is the ultimate song of heartache. It shows how life isn't black and white, but with plenty of gray.

Caught up in circles
Confusion is nothing new

I see this song as a goodbye to someone - doesn't matter the kind of relationship - because life is drifting them away, one stays behind, the other one is going forward but the memory of their love stays forever and each one is ready to come and rescue the other. True love never dies. Any kind of love.

"Gay" has nothing to do with anything! What if I called something I didn't like "straight"? Would all you narrow-minded straight people be offended? Probably not, because those of you who don't know how to use the word properly are probably too stupid to realize I am insulting you.

I think its about a past friendship or relationship she had with someone that she's no longer talking to for some reason. Although they don't speak anymore she still thinks about this person and will always be there for them no matter what.

this version is good, I always like the originals.
I also like punk covers, but I'm not sure if it's nfg covering this song (doesn't sound like them at all, and it's definitely not jordan singing). It sounds more like a ska band or something. It is a good cover, but does any one know who it's actually by?

It has a cover by the punk band Sewing With Nancie, they are awsome, and they also got a cover of the song Like A Prayer by Madonna, way better than Rufios cover. and thats that

I love this song. It truly gives me goosebumps!! Who is the guy singing with her on the chorus. Although this song is really sad, it makes me happy because I think of that scene from the film "Romy And Michelle's High School Reunion" when they are dancing with Alan Cumming really strangly to this song!! lol

This song is great - i love the line; 'caught up in circles, confusion is nothing new'. I've heard various covers of this, but I have to say EBTG's is the best., but still doesn't compare to the original Some punk covers are good, but I didn't think this one was special in any way. This is one song that I can sing really well - its my kareoke song for if I get a bit tipsy! :]

this song is purly about, love ending but not forgeting about the memories u shared with one another. i guess u can u can say, they been togeather for awhile. and one has to go away or they break up. no matter what happens one or the other person will remember what they shared togeather, or what they lost as a whole.
"Lying in my bed, I hear
The clock tick and think of you
Caught up in circles
Confusion is nothing new"
it talks about after the person left. she just thinks about him none stop, thinking of what to do, to move on or just try a nd get him back, as she gets confused. she says in her song no matter what happens she will be t here for the one she loves. and she will stay waiting untill he returns one day.

this song is great! it could be used for a relationship or just friends. whenever i hear this song i always think of my friends, and how many good times we've shared. there is always those people in your life who you've been friends with since you were young, and they always come to my mind when i hear this. most of those people who i've known my whole life are still here and i value them very much, and this song sums up everything we've been through

for me, being a guy it reminds me of a girl i once saw on a bus and the regrets i still have today for not doing something then, i think of her every night and this song reminds me of the warm nights when I gotta study for anatomy for med school. I think nights are pretty awesome and definatly worth spending with somenone.

Did Jewel cover this song? I thought that she did. Second of all, nietzsche 66, who the hell do you think you are putting down other people? You're no smarter than anyone else here. Anyway, "gay" is a perfectly acceptable word for "crappy."

I agree, the matchbox twenty version is great. The punk cover is by Gameface, not NFG
