This one goes out to the one I love
This one goes out to the one I've left behind
A simple prop to occupy my time
This one goes out to the one I love

Fire
Fire

This one goes out to the one I love
This one goes out to the one I've left behind
A simple prop to occupy my time
This one goes out to the one I love

Fire (she's comin' down on her own, now)
Fire (she's comin' down on her own, now)

This one goes out to the one I love
This one goes out to the one I've left behind
Another prop has occupied my time
This one goes out to the one I love

Fire (she's comin' down on her own, now)
Fire (she's comin' down on her own, now)
Fire (she's comin' down on her own, now)
Fire (she's comin' down on her own, now)

When I hear this song I always think of this quote by Aldulous Huxley in the Doors to Perception

"Embraced, the lovers desperately try to fuse their insulated ecstasies into a single self-transcendence; in vain."

This song is scathing about relationships "a simple prop to occupy my mind".

Apparently when this first song came out people would call it in the radio and dedicate it to their significant other. Hence the quote comes to mind.
