The sirens scream wanton attention.
Time to take heed and change direction.
Time to take stock and make omissions.

Evacuation. Evacuation.

Time to take leave all formal functions.
Time to plant seeds of a reconstruction.
No time this time to feign reluctance.

It's like your waiting for a diamond shore to wash your way.
Bets put aside you're evil. Lets crawl into your face.
A vision vague or not raising a frightful wake you up.

Time for evacuation. Evacuation. Evacuation. Evacuation.
Evacuation. Evacuation.

There was a solemn man. Watched his twilight disappear. In the sand.
Altered by a falling eagle. A warning sign. Sign.
He sensed that worry could be strength with a plan he said, "Time for evacuation."

Evacuation. Evacuation. Evacuation. Evacuation. Evacuation. Evacuation. Evacuation. Evacuation. Evacuation. Evacuation. Evacuation. Evacuation. Evacuation. Evacuation. Evacuation. Evacuation. Evacuation.

General Comment:I think it's about the country going through a crisis with a bad leader. The end gives it away for me, anyways.

There was a solemn man. Watched his twilight disappear. In the sand.
Altered by a falling eagle. A warning sign. Sign.
He sensed that worry could be strength with a plan he said, "Time for evacuation."

He's using people's fears to portray himself as a leader.

Kind of crazy how it foretold 9/11 in a way. I have to wonder why they didn't play it much after the Binaural Tour. It seems fit for the times.

General Comment:JBIII, are you out of your fkin mind? REPLACE Sleight Of Hand with Fatal??!! I love fatal, it's a great song and should be on the album, but Sleight Of Hand is one of their most amazing songs ever and Binaural simply wouldn't be the same without it.

General Comment:Former Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron, who joined Pearl Jam for its 1998 U.S. tour and has been a part of the band ever since, is also a dominant factor on "Binaural." Cameron wrote the music for the edgy
"Evacuation" and is said to have come up with certain guitar parts that Gossard and guitarist Mike McCready spent hours figuring out.

Vedder: Matt wrote it, and there's a lot of momentum in it. I couldn't sit down and write to it, so that was when I'd take it in the car and just go for drives — the open road thing. So it felt like I was evacuating. The theory behind the song, which I've probably done four times already, is getting out of a situation. "Rearviewmirror" might be the same song. But it's time to make a change — it's a song about change.

General Comment:i agree that sad and fatal should have been on binarual and are maybe the two best pearl jam songs (what the hell were they thinking leaving it off) but evacuation is still a good song.

I burned the perfect binaural album the way it should be, replace "breakerfall" with "sad" put "hitchhiker" after evacuation (optional) and replace "sleight of hand" with fatal. I strongly reccomend it

General Comment:ok after reading some of this stuff im not to sure about what to write but im a really big chili pepper fan and ecerything in my life resolves around them (hey thats how i found out about pearl jam!) and to mei see the signs that you see but another message put into about anyting can put you into pressure of little thing bu you feel like its a war. i look into this song and i see myself coming out and thinking about phoning everyone ive ever said anything to put them under the weather about and thats what lives in rhcp.
when you look at the sketches on the album where the lyrics to this song isyou can also see that message more cleare to that point too in a roundabout way. thank you for listing and please no mo qur over this
