Lyrics for Ghosts as interpreted by indianajones014

Ghosts Lyrics
There's a ghost down in the hall
There's a ghoul upon the bed
There's something in the walls
There's blood up on the stairs
And it's floating through the room
And there's nothing I can see
And I know it's bless the tune
Because now it's onto me

Don't understand it
Don't understand it

There's a tappin' in the floor
There's a creak behind the door
There's a rocking in the chair
But there's no-one seem there
There's a ghostly smell around
But nobody to be found
And a coffin inlay open
Where a restless soul is spoken

Don't understand it
Don't understand it

(Got a ghost
Got a break in the walls
Got a ghoul
Got a break in the halls
Got to see it
Want to)

And who gave you the right to scheme my family?
And who gave you the right to shame my baby? She needs me!
And who gave you the right to shame my fablic tree?

You put a knife in my back
Shot an arrow in me
Tell me are you the ghost of jealousy
The ghost of jealousy

There's a tappin' in the floor
There's a creak behind the door
There's a rocking in the chair
But nobody's seem there
There's a ghostly smell around
But nobody to be found
And a coffin inlay open
Where a restless soul is going

Don't understand it
Don't understand it

(Got a ghost
Got a break in the walls
Got a ghoul
Got a break in the halls
Got to see it
Want to)

And who gave you the right to scheme my family?
And who gave you the right to shame my baby? She needs me!
And who gave you the right to shame my fablic tree?
And who gave you the right to take, intrusion?
To see me!
And who gave you the right to shame my family?
And who gave you the right to hurt my baby?
She needs me!
And who gave you the right to shame my fablic trees?

You put a knife in my back
Shot an arrow in me
Tell me are you the ghost of jealousy
A suckin' ghost of jealousy

And who gave you the right to scheme my family?
And who gave you the right to shame my baby? She needs me!
And who gave you the right to shame my fablic tree?
And who gave you the right to take, intrusion?
To see me!
And who gave you the right to hurt my family?
And who gave you the right to hurt my baby?
She needs me!
And who gave you the right to shame my fablic tree?

You put a knife in my back
Shot an arrow in me
Tell me are you the ghost of jealousy
The ghost of jealousy

Come on!
But it's dynamite
A peace of mine
Tell me are you the ghost of jealousy

I downloaded the music video quite some time ago and, I have to tell you, it was pretty creepy. It starts out with a group of parents and their children going to a dark castle in the standard mob gathering you would see in a black and white horror movie. They are led by a pourtly middle-age man (played by MJ) who wants to see MJ gone. The kids are protesting all the while that MJ is their friend and their parents seem to reluctantly take their side. When they meet MJ, he tries to convince them through song and dance that he really is a friend and succeeds with everybody except the leader, whom is being portrayed as just trying to scare everybody, most of all MJ It's obvious MJ is trying to repeat the success of the Thriller video but fails miserably. It was very apparent that the recent events in MJs life have been affecting thoroughly. He has always been known to express his feelings about what is going on in his life (see BIllie Jean), but this song and video just somehow seems ... wrong. The whole theme was just uber creepy. Notice that I used the words creepy twice in this post. That's how bad it was. If MJ is to return to his former glory as a pop star, he shouldn't be distracted by the events in his life.

He wasn't trying to make another Thriller, he was trying to make something completely original

Uh, what the fuck.

This song, and the movie-thing, Ghosts, is completely symbolic. I love it.

I think this song mentions about the types of ghosts among the human beings .. like the ghost of jealousy!

I haven't watched the short film/video but parts on youtube and was surprised to find it amusing and fun. The ghost and ghouls represent the unrelenting elements that try to disturb our peace much like what MJ was going through. Somebody said that he somewhat deserved it, maybe, but I don't agree to how low they have gotten to it Michael presents a funny way of dealing with it and thinly suggest, you scare me or are you scared because of your jealousy. I think it shows a lot of sense of humor on his part.

It was a very good song, and I completely get what Michael is talking about in it. Good job again, Michael!

I always kinda thought this song was about what Bahir put Michael through in that interview/documentary thingy he did with him...I have no real basis for this, but that's just how I interpretted it.

Also I think the lyrics posted here are wrong

These lyrics are wrong.

I think these are the correct lyrics:

There's a ghost down in the hall
There's a ghoul upon the bed
There's something in the walls
There's blood up on the stairs
And it's floating through the room
And there's nothing I can see
And I know it's bless the tune
Because now it's haunting me

Don't understand it
Don't understand it

There's a thumpin' in the floor
There's a creak behind the door
There's a rocking in the chair
But there's no-one seem there
There's a ghostly smell around
But nobody to be found
And a coffin inlay open
Where a restless soul is pokin'

Don't understand it
Don't understand it

(Got a ghost
Got a break in the walls
Got a ghoul
Got a break in the halls
Got to see it
Want to)

And who gave you the right to scare my family?
And who gave you the right to shame my baby? She needs me!
And who gave you the right to shake my fablic tree?

They put a knife in my back
Shot an arrow in me
Tell me are you the ghost of jealousy
The ghost of jealousy

There's a thumpin' in the floor
There's a creak behind the door
There's a rocking in the chair
But nobody's seem there
There's a ghostly smell around
But nobody to be found
And a coffin inlay open
Where a restless soul is going

Don't understand it
Don't understand it

(Got a ghost
Got a break in the walls
Got a ghoul
Got a break in the halls
Got to see it
Want to)

And who gave you the right to scheme my family?
And who gave you the right to shame my baby? She needs me!
And who gave you the right to shake my fablic tree?
And who gave you the right to take, intrusion?
To see me!
And who gave you the right to shame my family?
And who gave you the right to hurt my baby?
She needs me!
And who gave you the right to shake my fablic trees?

You put a knife in my back
Shot an arrow in me
Tell me are you the ghost of jealousy
A suckin' ghost of jealousy

And who gave you the right to shame my family?
And who gave you the right to shame my baby? She needs me!
And who gave you the right to shake my fablic tree?
And who gave you the right to take, intrusion?
To see me!
And who gave you the right to hurt my family?
And who gave you the right to hurt my baby?
She needs me!
And who gave you the right to shake my fablic tree?

You put a knife in my back
Shot an arrow in me
Tell me are you the ghost of jealousy
The ghost of jealousy

Come on!
But it's dynamite
A peace of mine
Tell me are you the ghost of jealousy
