    Memory:The "It's in my face" lyric is about the lava in Doom II and running around in it, and it splashing in your face.

    Source: I knew the singer, and we played Doom II a lot back then.

    General Comment:This came out about the time the movie "Once Were Warriors" came out so it was riding
    the coat tails of Maori culture becoming of interest.

    General Comment:This song is about being fugitives the lead singer Pauly Fuemana use to be a gang member and juvenile in New Zealand. The first verse is about them almost gettting caught. the second verse

    "Freshly pasted poster reveals a smile from the past" Is obviously about wanted posters.

    The last verse "People jump and jive, but the clowns have stuck around
    TV news and camera, there's choppers in the sky
    Marines, police, reporters ask where, for and why
    Pele yells, "We're outta here," Zina says, "Right on"

    We're making moves and starting grooves before they knew we were gone
    Jumped into the Chevy and headed for big lights

    this refers to the manhunt that is out after them. With many people asking questions about who they are and where they might have gone. They take off to a big city to escape capture.

    Everytime I look around its in my face. Is referring to all the publicity they are getting from being fugitives.

    General Comment:I always thought it was Xena, not Zina.
    I was under the impression that this was just a lazy summer song about going on a road trip and encountering odd things along the way.

    It's also incorrect that we got this song in 1997. We got it during the summer of 98. I remember it well because I somehow remember the weekend it began to impact...
