Give me time to realize my crime
Let me love and steal.
I have danced inside your eyes
How can I be real.

Do you really want to hurt me
Do you really want to make me cry
Precious kisses words that burn me
Lovers never ask you why.
In my heart the fire is burning
Choose my color find a star
Precious people always tell me
That's a step a step too far.

Do you really want to hurt me
Do you really want to make me cry
Do you really want to hurt me
Do you really want to make me cry.

Words are few
I have spoken
I could waste a thousand years
Wrapped in sorrow, words are token
Come inside and catch my tears
You've been talking but believe me
If it's true you do not know
This boy loves without a reason
I'm prepared to let you go

If it's love you want from me
Then take it away
Everything's not what you see it's over again.

Do you really want to hurt me
Do you really want to make me cry
Do you really want to hurt me
Do you really want to make me cry.

Give me time to realize my crime
Let me love and steal.
I have danced inside your eyes
How can I be real.
If it's love you want from me then take it again.

General Comment:One of those songs you don't wish to admit you like, especially when it's sung by the flamboyant Boy.

No I don't. Only when You hurt me first...but all it takes is
one acknowledgement from You and my I have a sun in my world, there
is a moon in my sky.

General Comment:This song was written after Boy George and Jon Moss broke up because Jon was questioning his sexuality and thought he might be straight or somthing. Afterwards George was very upset and wouldnt come out of his dressing room. jon tried to smoke him out but of course boy george thought he was trying to kill him so thats where you get the lyrics, Do you really want to hurt me? :D

General Comment:Boy George is the cutest gay man ever. ^_^ I give him props for being so open (I know he was a major influence in helping me come out of the closet) and I also give him props for being prettier than most chicks out there. o-O Gay boys are so damn good with makeup.

General Comment:I really liked this song in The Wedding Singer.. >_>

ohwhocares is right, you really do end up hurting the ones you love. Even the ones who don't appear to keep the feeling mutual, lol. The (painful) truth. >

General Comment:Sorry, I didn't mean to sound rude with my post. I didn't realize that the person right above me said they didn't get the meaning of the song.

Well, there is an old saying "You hurt the ones you love" and there you go. That's the meaning of the song.

General Comment:Boy George/Culture Club had some songs with absolutely awesome LYRICS (not all there songs, but some are amazing). Anyone know if they wrote their own stuff???

I admit the music does sound a dated in 2006, but come on the lyrics to this are still awesome. Great songwriting.

Songs like this and "Crying Game" need to be covered more. But they aren't; because people are afraid of the gay/transsexual connotation with these songs. They are so afraid that if they cover these beautiful songs people will point, laugh and yell "GAY!"

    It's such a shame!!

Oh, and the meaning of this song is so obvious so I don't need to go into that.
