let me just say i heard this song after the show playing it straight one of the guys sed to the girl on it i'll never let your head hit the bed and it was like wow hes a cool guy knows how to charm the ladies then wen about 3 weeks later i actually heard the song on tv i was like wow thats amazing ok yeah its about making out in a hotel room but who gives a toss the lyrics are sweet and meaningful i shall sit here now ppl and say i like bands like the unseen and rancid hardcore punk but wen you hear summat good you cant just rip it cos it'll make you look uncool this song is amazing point is wats point in comin on a song just to say its wank if you have nothing nice to say don't bother saying it at all cos no one cares about ur opionin unless its good. personally this song means so much to me wen i do have my first time i want the girl to fel special and this is the song i'd choose over any other to play the best part i think is 1 mile to every inch of your skin like porceline one pair of candy lips and ur bubblegum tounge plainly because there simple ways of describing a girl but yet so perfect in there simplicity john mayer has only 2 songs i like dosn't mean he aint a good arstist i still admire him for his work well done jon keep it up

i truly admire the feats that john mayer is able to accomplish. with this song, for example, he is able to make sex sound boring. he is able to make sex sound like the kind of thing that would soundtrack a saturn commercial.

This song is one of the sleaziest that I've ever heard.

Come on, "your body is a wonderland -- I'll use my hands"? And people fall for this stuff?

I especially like how an earlier poster who saw him live admitted that Mr. Mayer said that this song was written just to get him some "ass"... but then the poster went on to remark on how romantic it was.

This isn't romance, this is a cynical attempt to get laid.

Back in 2002 on page 3, devilangelwsf finally mentioned the part of the song that should get most girls. Yes, this song is raging full of amazing sensual lyrics but my shivers come when he says:

Like in many of my other posts on different bands, I'll tell you all the same. Dont talk shit on anyone that is pretty famous until you make more money than they do. They bring in the cash, you dont. get over it. John Mayer's songs may be cheesy to you but to his fans, they mean something. John Mayer isnt just another pop singer. He knows what he's doing and if you've ever seen him in concert and watched him play his guitar solo's, you'd learn to appreciate him just for that because you can see on his face just how much he loves music and he truly connects with his guitar when he plays. That moment is unbelievably sexy and sensual. It's naturally John Mayer. Quit complaining. Go back to your own bands and comment how great they are there. No one likes to hear anyone else whine.

By the way, I have a 2 disc set of a live concert and on the track where he played this song, he started it by saying ::This song is about girly parts::

As to anything else I have to say, This song is indeed self-explanatory. It's a sensual guy saying how beautiful his girl is and saying he cant look at her without wanting to make love to her. He wouldnt rather be anywhere else than in her arms making love to her and feeling that kind of passion constantly.

Secretly, all of us girls-no matter our stereotype-would want a guy to sing something like this to us. Most girls in the world prefer it to be this song because it makes us melt so much. Other girls who arent geniuses think this song is meant to degrade women and they'd rather it be some other song...maybe written by their guy himself (if he's any good).

In my opinion, I'd rather John Mayer himself sing it to me since he has the voice to this song and only that voice gives me shivers...along with his facial expressions. Either way, I'd still fall way in love with any guy who played this song for me.

So it's about sex. Big deal!

It's a sensitive celebration of an intensely sexual relationship. I can't think of another song that gets so much airplay that isn't either all about love and the assumption you'll be together forever (notice love is not actually mentioned...it's about the sex people) or incredibly edibly mysogynistic. What did you think 'slap that' was all about? ewww.

This song treats her as his equal, and someone to be respected at least during the time they're together...there are worse things in the world for sure.
