Where am I!? Where are you?
There's so much time so little to do
We're busy doing nothing cause it's vanity we prize.
You can't see nothing cause you can't see through your eyes.
They're covered with a film, you're blinded by yourself.
You're the one to blame but you pretend it's someone else.

Life could you be a little softer to me.
Life could you be more gentle to me.
Yeah I know this is a selfish plea,
Because Christ sacrificed his flesh
On the cross for me
But this world is hard,
It's cruel and I wish it could be
Softer to me

I'm still alive. That much is true
I've never lied, well, I guess I've told a few.
There's nothing to see because I brought nothing to show.
The conversation got too deep, I shrug and tell you I' don't know.
This life can get so hard, this world can be so cruel,
Sometimes I fall apart I feel just like a useless tool.

General Comment:I love this song. I think it's about a person seeing all the hurt and pain in their life and they're not living, but surviving. As they see this, they ask life and God to be softer and reduce the pain and crap that comes with life even if it is selfish. They know their pain is nothing compared to Jesus' as he was in agony on the Cross, but they still want an easier life.

I can relate to this song. I've felt like that a lot.

General Comment:okay...referring to the comments about relient k writing about nothing but god all the time. (yes i know these comments were 9 years ago) if any of you oafs actually knew about music with a meaning you would understand that the reason relient k is so talented is that they can always make their songs pertain to god while still having another meaning. for example many of their songs are about relationships with other people, but can double as describing relationships with god.

btw in the time this thread has been going blink has split, and just recently come back together. now i have to say i do like some of blink's stuff, but do you see relient k having issues among band members like blink did? any idea why that is? thats right...they all have god in common :-)

General Comment:What's with all the hating? If you don't like this song, don't listen to this song. If you don't like Relient k, don't listen to Relient k. No one is forcing you to listen to this. Every band has a right to sing about what they want and if you don't like it then move to a country where people don't have those rights.

General Comment:I would like to give Relient k a big round of applause for listening to all this stuff from everyone and not leaving there Christ following life behing. Jesus truly is the way and they understand that. They go at it with a burning passion. And even thought this life is hard and cruel they tough it out. I'm not here to critique anyone. God Bless you all, no matter what you believe. I hope that His amazing love finds its way into your heart

General Comment:Actually, I agree with Blink.

    *short silence*

NO, I'm kidding, look Relient K and many other christian bands REALLY REALLY help us understand many things and help us realize things we need to focus on, blinkfanforever, I suggest you go to a student life camp or to your youth church, instead of insulting everyone.

General Comment:wow... i didn't realize that this was like a six year conversation until after I posted... my comment refers to the ones I saw on the first page.
haha note to self: be more observant next time...
but I do have to add that after reading some of the eight pages of comments, I really think a lot of people missed the lesson in history where the constitution came in..... and the history of monotheistic religions....
    I'm pretty disappointed is all.

General Comment:first of all, I have to agree with the people above me that said that if you don't like relient k, then don't listen to them.
but as far as bigwillystyle's comment, that really got to me.
first of all, you're dumb. I'm sorry, but if you think that christian music should be restricted to the church, then you're dumb. Most of the US is christian, so even if the government tried that, it would never end up working. I mean seriously, why favor the minorities?
also, there is this thing called the first amendment that says that bands like relient k can play their songs outside of church. Anyone and everyone can say what they want, and frankly, relient k's songs aren't offensive to non-christians at all, so I don't really know what your deal is.
    and bigwillystyle, I must add
    GOD BLESS YOU(:

General Comment:God and music can be mixed, and if you don't like it, don't listen to it. There are plenty of anti-God bands, Strung Out, Pennywise, etc...but if you hear a song by a Christian band, like it, and then find out they are Christians and go on a rampage, you are an idiot. About the comment a few above me, saying music should be used only to glorify God, that is a stupid statement. Music should be expression of self, and if the self in question doesn't believe they have the right to say what they believe.
