sew it on. face the fool.
december's tragic drive
when time is poetry and
stolen the world outside
the waiting could crush my heart
the tide breaks a wave of fear
and brave songs disappear to the secret
voice of dawn this last time
raise my eyes. you'll taste it in time
the right words in time.
the mirrors lie those aren't my eyes
destroy them raise my hand
reflected in savage
shards a new face a
soul reborn.

december's tragic drive --reference to seasonal affective disorder
when time is poetry and ----when you're depressed, time is like poetry to some people...it requires more effort to get through and find the meaning in things
stolen the world outside-----don't want to leave the house because of depression
the waiting could crush my heart----"i feel like i might die while im waiting for this to get better"
the tide breaks a wave of fear---tide is a reference to "as eventual as the tides"...periods of depression are eventualities for him....and now eventuality has brought him to this period of depression...basically "now im depressed"
and brave songs dissapear to the secret
voice of dawn ------------------------i cant reassure myself
this last time
raise my eyes.------not too sure about this line
you'll taste it in time-----i'm guessing hes saying you may not understand but eventually you will and all this will make sense
the right words in time.
the mirrors lie those aren't my eyes ----i look in the mirror and i don't feel i'm really the person i see
destroy them raise my hand ----i want to break the mirror out of frustration
reflected in savage
shards a new face a
soul reborn. ------------i feel the fractured image in a broken mirror is a more accurate reflection of who i really am inside. my mind and my spirit is cracked and jagged.
this is just my interpretation. the song is a description of an episode of severe depression and the chorus is a commentary on how people who haven't experienced severe depression don't usually understand and try to marginalize your pain, but eventually, everyone finds a time of desperation.
love to hear anyone's thoughts on this.
