How will I drink from that stream
How will my heart sing your praise
How will I lay down in green grass fields
When my soul is so afraid to

Rejoice

General Comment:i really can't help but translate these kind of songs to 'suit' my personal crisis at the time, but to me this song is about knowing you want something so badly, yet being to afraid to take the risk. The grass fields are like that perfect, happy place. So how will reach that kind of calm all the while my soul is to afraid to go. To take the risk.

I dunno, thats what it means to me anyway. There are probably a fair few ways of interpreting it though. What a beautiful song from an incredible band.

General Comment:He's afraid to rejoice because when you have experienced true happiness, it's even harder to live on without it. It crosses him with everything he does because he really wants to rejoice but he's way too afraid to take any risks. He wants to love but he thinks the disappointment afterwards is not worth it. But deep inside we all want to rejoice, 'cause a moment of true happiness is worth the pain afterwards.

    General Comment:Thank you, DarkerShadeofWinter :)

Now, after one month, i can say that to be completely honest with the people you love the most was the best decision in my life. It's not so hard when you are not loved because someday (really soon) you will be loved. it's much harder when you can't love.
Don't be afraid to love - don't be afraid to rejoice.

Being and living for each other. I've always thought that Christianity is about this.

General Comment:I was never one for interpreting songs such as this as anything to do with relationships, but VolatileWorld's comment was incredible. Some people might find that sappy, but I honestly am astounded that someone would be that honest and passionate about something of that nature on this website. Not just that, it sounded completely genuine and sincere; thank you for posting that. You're the reason that music like this is so beautiful. I hope this song helps you find your way to those words; I hope you rejoice.

I've never felt what I feel about this song until just now.. Even after having this album since it came out. Wow.

General Comment:I'm not pretending to explain this song, but i'll comment from my perspective.

I have relations with a girl, but i'm afraid to love her with all my soul, because i'm not sure what i truly mean to her.
"How will I drink from that stream
How will my heart sing your praise
How will I lay down in green grass fields
When my soul is so afraid to"
So how will i love her if i'm afraid? It is said that if you want to be loved, you have to love first. So i released my fear and i'll tell her everything. I'm open for her. I'm not afraid to love (and to be wounded) and to rejoice no more.

Mineral is a wonderful band. It helped me to find true things and Jesus. At first their songs sound so depressing but after all it makes you appreciate every second of life, everyone you meet, it makes you not afraid to face true things. It shows you positive things and you can wake up in the morning with a smile on your face and be happy because you have those true things and you're not afraid.
You can say that God sent Mineral, but it's not true. God sent all of us to this world and it's up to us what we will choose - bad things or good and true things. We can help each other to choose.
    Don't be afraid to rejoice.

General Comment:How will I (physically) drink from that stream
How will my heart (emotionally) sing your praise
How will I lay down in green grass fields when my soul (spiritual) is afraid to rejoice

i see it as him pleading some form of answer as to why everything is just not working. His heart, his spirit, and himself.

General Comment:i'll say this for the (many)th time. mineral is NOT intentionally a christian band. many of their lyrics can be interpreted as christian, and that's great. it's just not the intended meaning.

i myself am a christian and i think that if mineral were a christian band, they would have the best and most true christian lyrics out there.

General Comment:this song for sure about when you are afriad to praise God cause your so upset. Then Chris is saying dont be afriad, rejoice and praise His name. Its much like my friends band Luke. They are just like a mineral band. if you guys wanna check him out lukemusic.com sorry it seemed like an adverstisement. but any fan of mineral would like him.
