you're gonna walk on home
you're gonna walk alone
you're gonna see this through
don't let them get to you

shame

love is good and love is kind
love is drunk and love is blind
love is good and love is mine
love is drunk all the time

shame

you're gonna walk on home
you're gonna walk alone
you're gonna walk so far
you're gonna wonder who you are

shame

love is good and love is kind
love is good and love is blind
love is good and love is mine
love is good all the time

hello goodbye, you know you made us cry...

General Comment:like how he switches up the last verse from the second, replacing all the "drunks" with "goods" ending on a somewhat positive note

Link(s):interestingly enough, i just watched *shame* (2011; dir. by steve mcqueen, stars michael fassbender and carey mulligan). from what i saw in the trailer, i began associating it with this song. now i can see that there are some interesting albeit very coincidental connections. obviously the lyrics have some intersects with the characters and the story. but the music itself has a coolness and a coldness that matches the cinematography and the performances. even the endings have a bittersweet tint that's also ambiguous.

Song Meaning:This is a song about Billy's relationship with Courtney Love, which also serves as an analogy to the relationships we may have not only with people we love, but also with the challenges of life, ups and downs, uncertainties, etc.

"Love is drunk all the time". I can see that ;)

General Comment:en i first heard this song i gave it 2.5 stars, but hearing it again i bumped it to 4. its actually a chill song, SP dont do many songs like this: slow long, more music than instrumentals. But the sound combined with lyrics gives it an upbeat mood.

i think its about getting dumped or fucking up and losing your girl / guy

Song Meaning:Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins wrote the song “Shame" on the Adore album as a tribute to Michael Hutchence.

General Comment:I think this is about Jimmy Chamberlain.

The closing lyrics "hello, goodbye, you know you made us cry..." seem to fit in with what was happening to the band at the time.

General Comment:The danish wikipedia says that this was written about Michael Hutchence from INXS. And it was simply a short poem about what Corgan would have told him.

Kinda fits with the "hello, goodbye..." part. And drunken love. And walking alone.
