I`ll wait for you till I turn blue.
There`s nothin` more a man could do.
Don`t get you bollocks in a twist.
Settle down do`n take a fit.
You drank with demons straight from hell.
The almost Nearly won as well.
You wiped the floor with victory.
Then puked until you fell asleep.
Blackened was the banshees' wall.
These boots will never fill her jail.
You scrawled into an empty boat.
For the Gulf of Mexico.
Till Cortez came on when so did you.
From the ashes charred and blue.
Smellin like a salty dog.
Back from hell where you belong.
Anarchy, the scourge of every sea.
The Antichrist aboard a rig.
With us your cut throat thieves.
The ship went down we all near drown.
You stood there on the deck.
Until the spanish came and flogged your arse and dragged ya from the wreck.
They threw a rope around your neck.
To watch you dance the jig of death.
They left ya for the starving crows.
Hovering like hungry whores.
One flew down and plucked out yer eye.
The other he had in his sights.
Ya snarled at him said, leave me be.
I need the bugger so I can see.

General Comment:Alright so here's what I get from this one. Its not about a pirate, its a drinking song, and like most drinking songs its about a night of drinking gone horribly wrong.

So this guy gets into a drinking contest with a bunch "demon's straight from hell" (I'm guess the pirates) and barely manages to win. Sick as hell from all the drinking he's done and not wanting to get picked up and thrown into jail he stumbles on to an empty ship and passes out. When he finally comes to he finds himself on the way to the Gulf of Mexico and under attack by a Spaniard named Cortez, who sinks the ship because - well apparently it was a pirate ship (I'd guess the ones he got into the drinking contest with). The Spanish pull him out of the wreck and take him for another pirate. They hang him and leave him for dead. Then comes the final punchline where the crows come down and pluck out one of his eyes - it turns out he isn't quite dead yet, and so he tries to shoo them away because he needs his last eye to see.

General Comment:This song comes across to me about drunken pirates lost at sea, eventually capsizing and then being rescued by Cortez only to be hung. And there's an aura to this song about the spirit of the pirate that shall forever live on. This song has a lot of dark comedy in it.

General Comment:For those who can't follow, the pirate has a drinking contest against "demons," which he wins. He then escapes some sort of law ("These boots will never fill her jail") only to be caught by Cortez, who sinks his ship, captures him and hangs him.

General Comment:The intro is actually to the tune to "The Kesh Jig," but the lyrics are by Dave King.

General Comment:Dude, I moshed to like 7 Flogging Molly songs at a party I had. We completely ruined my basement. Tore down the walls too-literally! The music is actually a very very old Irish drinking song but they added words to it. It's about an Irish Pirate going to the Spanish Main (Central America, the Carribbean). Classic Irish Drinking Song.

General Comment:I'm gonna actually go really deep here and say this song's about The War of Jenkins' Ear, a.k.a. King George's War, to my brothers across the pond. The privateer Sir Robert Jenkins had his ship stopped by a Spaniard named Cortes and had his ear cut off, starting a war between Great Britain and Spain.
