You told me don't you look at the sun,
It burns your eyes out.
I disobeyed and see a man who's going nowhere.
He fed me this: you don't got to worry, you're on your feet.

Please help me down.
Should have made room for others who can't be beat into open sea.
I brainstormed and caught up with my friend who's doing fine now.
It's been uplifting knowing you all have static sources.

I fed him this: man, am I in a hurry to break this chord of our paranoia.
Took him too long to notice and now I'm down where I can't be found.
And there's no antidote for a petty loaf.
I think we've found the lighter side of our friendly host.
I don't mean to boast, we can face all this nonsense.

General Comment:this is probably one of JEW's better songs, ups and downs, rhythmn changes, explosiveness...and Tom sings which is pretty awesome. It's a song that starts in one place, leaves that place, but come full circle in the end. It's great.

General Comment:i think this song is about someone who realizes that everyone around him is relaxing and not taking life too seriously. so he decides to join since its what the crowds doing. then when others around him start gettong back on their "feet" and passing him by, he realizes hes in trouble unless he changes soon, but he has already fallen into the cycle, and now its too late for him, and there is nothing that can cure him of loss.

General Comment:I think this song has to do with making some mistakes in life, but that it isn't over. You just need to learn from them. I'm not sure about this, but it sounds like when they are screaming at the end, Tom says,"Your bit of room to grow." and Jim says,"Hey, we're not slaves." Can someone tell me if I'm right.

General Comment:This is a great song... So powerful. It's hard to interpret. To me, it has something to do with a journey to find yourself. He went off for some self-exploration, and became isolated, while those around him were lost. Now he's coming back to reality and wanting to help those around him discover themselves.
