    General Comment:Wow, I feel old and I was a kid when this came out. This is the title track to a movie that came out in 1984 with Jeff Bridges, James Woods and this smokin' HOT British actress at the time Rachel Ward , who was like the flavor of that year. There's a lot of twists in the movie, I'm not going to get totally into it, but Bridges and Ward fall in love, and creates a love triangle between Woods, Bridges and Ward, but then all this "stuff" happens. At the end of the movie Bridges's is looking at Ward at some event or something like that. She doesn't even know he's watching her, she's moved on, he's still in love with her, but it's obviously not going to end the way he wants it....with her..... hence...against all odds... the lyrics actually do fit the movie...

    Song Meaning:This song means everything to me. theres this girl who i let slip away one year ago, we've barely talked since. ive talked to her a few times but she is either playing hard to get or isnt interested. i want to show to her how much she still means to me. i want her to "take a look at me now". all i need anymore is a second chance with her. its the only thing i could wish for.

    General Comment:This song makes me think of my ex. We've been broken up for about 3 years, i've dated girls since then but it hasn't been the same. She's been with a new guy for about 2 1/2 years. When I hear this song it really makes me feel like this song is from me to her. I really miss her :(

    General Comment:What more to say that hasn't been said? Phil Collins is such a powehouse! Dudes voice is amazing and this song... its so deep. A man letting a woman know no matter what, he'll wait for her. Even though in his heart.. he knows its a slim chance. :( Mostly all of his songs are so beautiful, in whichever meaning they convey.

    General Comment:beautiful. this song came on when i was driving home from work, and i instantly thought how much i love my boyfriend :) it's about a guy, who is deeply in love with a girl, and everything they have with one another is so unique and special, and that he'd be lost without her. just amazing

    General Comment:Pain, something I have walked thru for the first time in my life unrequited love I know. It brings sadness and unknowing feelings of despair. It's been hard but maybe this being my walk thru the fire song, my hell song and can some how move on and walk in my heaven. I try each day. Love is good and love is bad.
