Run, Running all the time
Running to the future
With you right by my side

Me, I'm the one you chose
Out of all the people
You wanted me the most

And I'm so sorry that I've fallen
Help me up, let's keep on running
Don't let me fall out of love

[Chorus]
Running Running as fast as we can
Do you think we'll make it
(Do you think we'll make it)
Running, keep holding my hand
So we don't get separated

Be, Be the one I need
Be the one I trust most
Don't stop inspiring me

Sometimes it's hard to keep on running
We work so hard to keep it going
Don't make me want to give up

[Chorus: Repeats]

General Comment:This is the perfect Dr Who companion song. All they do is run. And no matter who you are, you can't help but fall in love with The Doctor. It's perfect <3

General Comment:When this song first came out, I thought it was cute and sweet, but tired of it after a few months of non-stop repeat radio play. That lasted for the last few years until last August. I was in Lane Bryant and the song came on the radio, and I fell in love with the song again because it had new meaning to me. One of my closest friends (a guy) and I had been on a road trip two months before, and in Ohio ended up driving through a tornado. We're from California, so that's easily the single-scariest thing we've ever lived through.

So when Gwen sings the following, it added a whole new layer to the song that I will never forget.

    "Running, running,
    As fast as we can,
Do you think we'll make it?
    We're running,
    Keep holding my hand,
    So we don't get separated"

General Comment:this part always makes me smile:
"out of all the people you wanted me the most"
:) it perfectly depicts the way you feel when you think you're the luckiest person in the world to be with the one you're with.

General Comment:i think it IS a sad song. Or atleast contains some intended sadness. I mean the muscians had to be aware that the nostalgic 8 bit nintendo-esque music sounded bittersweet.

And the lyrics? Don't let me fall out of love? Don't make me want to give up? I think they're helluva hopeful, but also realizing that with all the running, sooner or later someone is going to fall out of breath. If it was totally happy, these things wouldnt even cross the person's mind, right? And what are they running from? Time and inevitability. Hell..we all fall out of love, or atleast it's not as intense as the first week, even if it is true love and it is forever. I think this song addresses those feelings. You can't run forever, but you CAN run as hard as you can, for as long as you can, if you really mean it.

Anyway, great song. LOVE the intro. Reminds me of innocence and love and nostalgia for the younger days. Of course..i am of the 8bit generation.

General Comment:I've noticed everyone claims this to be a "sad song". It's really not. It's a very sweet, hopeful love song. I think the video that went with it had little to do with the songs meaning.

It's about a couple who have been together for a long time and have been through a lot together. The person singing is simply saying how s/he hopes for the best (do you think we'll make it?), but is confident all the same (keep holding my hand). She is confident that no matter what happens, if they just stick together it will be okay (don't let me fall out of love/help me up, lets keep on running).

One of my favorite No Doubt songs.

General Comment:This song has a very deep eeaning to me, because one of my boyfriends and I, this was our song. I loved him so much, but then he killed himself. I can barely listen to this song anymore, but I still smile, remembering all the good times we had.

I think this song is about not giving up on your love, to keep running.
