(When he is a kid adults ask him so what do you want to be when he grows up? a doctor,astronaut,or fireman and when he actually grows up life throws him to a different road he believes in becoming someone that was not meant for him but he felt like a fool to believe in it

(because of all the mistakes he made when he was young he wants to fit in to be cool hang out with the wrong crowd he makes plenty of mistakes that takes him down the wrong path.)

I wrote my interpretation of this song based on my own personal experience in my life but like I said on top its a diverse song the actual meaning can be explained only by the creator when and why he wrote the song. But the mysterious meanings to the lyrics of mayonaise tend to make this song much more emotional and attractive
First couple verses was the hope where we knew it would be really hard but we had eachother so we would get through it. However, we were so young we had no clue what we were getting into. We truely believed we were ready.

While the harlots of my perils scream" This is the begining of the "doom" he insisted he was faithul but he was far from it. When I started getting down basically I was on my own left to dream about what life would of been had I decided not to grow up so fast.

That when I can, I will" We both failed. We both and even now 15 yrs later always understand eachother and are always there for eachother BUT its "when we can" or convient. We have teenage kids together and only 30.

Out of love and out of feeling so bad" This was realizing everyone was right and us getting divorced. THe regret on missing out on being a teenager, the understanding to our parents for warning us and being upset, and done with the suffering we were putting eachother thru for the sake of trying to prove them all to still be wrong. We were done feeling bad for them, ourselves and eachother. We just wanted to go our seperate ways and start new.

That when I can, I will" This is where we are today, 10yrs later. No more fake promises, no more hurting eachother emotionally, we are finally our own person and get to know and love ourselves. We understand eachother, what went wrong, and why we understand and respect the ones who warned us. When we can we do and will.

It's really hard trying to figure out your life and pursue your dreams if you're stuck with a family that isn't supportive and just makes you feel really shitty about your dreams and goals in life.
I feel like this song is about breaking free from our dysfunctional families that hold us back:
