This is my favourite song, for many rasons.
But the most important one is that this song has saved my life...These lyrics made me realise so many things...And maybe it is a sad song, but it can also help people...it made me understand that I wasn`t the only one whoose life ain`t worth living.
This made me stronger and made me want to know Ville...so I knew him, read everything about him.I loved him so much that he became my God...Sad songs can help depressive people.

i have a few questions for everyone to muse over. first of all in this song, he says "before live tears us apart", "this live aint worth living" he repetedly uses live instead of life wich is proper english. why? what does that mean i dont think that it was by accident but a purposeful change. also in this music video something struck me as odd maybe im clueless but i noticed a symbul besides the heartogram in this video it was a circle with a line with two horizontal lines going through it. and it was above the red liquid in the bottle. also i saw the same symbol when vile was sitting in a ice chair to his right there was a red bottle in the same shape as the symbol i described and to his left there was a taller bottle that was clear at least it looked like it was, and above him was the heartogram. also when it was showing a close up on ville sitting in his chair the camera pans to the left to include the red symbol. so what is he trying to say if anything and what is this symbol?

So what if HIM is "dark"? Satanism is as much of a religion as Christianity or whatever cult you follow.

This song is being discriminated against not based on song value but based on the image of the song-writer.

this is my 1st time on here and as i was reading these comments i just had to join. 1st things 1st, u jackasses who are dissing on HIM two words 4 ya, FUCK OFF!!! Don't know why u fuckers bother to look at HIM's lyrics in the 1st place. another thing, as i was reading the comments from long ago some said that the Heartagram was a pentagram of some kind. well FYI its not. its a heart and a inverted pentacile. not sure if i spelled that right but yea. its a symbol between love and hate. not necessarly evil. and he's no santanic guy either. shouldn't this web site be about discussing and agreeing with one another about what the song is about? My interpretation of this song is that it is something that sad or depressed people can listen to and realize that they are not alone. As with the likes of Nirvana, Marilyn Manson and the Cure. I am NOT saying that HIM resembles them, but they show the other side of things, which is precisely why they get blamed by media reporters. When someone like myself hears pop artists on about "love is the most sugary sweet thing ever", they can't feel the song because it doesn't relate to how they feel. That's why this song is forced to rock so fucking hard! Go HIM!!!

OMG. This song means sooo much to me. I spend ALL of my time trying to figure out what they meant by writing this song but i just cant figure it out!!

I think he is saying that two people want to be together but something is blocking them and that life would take them away from each other somehow. He is asking her is she would die tonight for love asking if she trusted and loved him enough if she would die for him and his love for her

Thats what I think I could be wrong but I'll keep trying to completely figure it out

Went to see Projekt Revolution and Ville is way hotter in person!!!

Anni, you must be one of the most stupid people I have EVER seen. Just because of their song titles, you can't say HIM is Satanic. It is not SATANISTS, idiot. I could actually care less if they were Satanic, because I listen to Satanic music, anyways. You are telling us to go deeper into the music, but it is quite obvious you don't, because you think they are Satanic. ANYWAYS, I think Join me In Death is not about suicide, as many people say. With HIM, "Death" does not have to mean physically dying. To them, death just means turning away from society and going to hide out with the one you love. Just escaping. So, Anni, you should not be the one calling people ignorant. And Ville is HOT. I don't care how much makeup he wears or how much he looks like a girl. Most Finns have more delicate, feminine features, anyways. Ville is GORGEOUS.

The song is definitely about Romeo and Juliet, Ville's confirmed it in some of his interviews. I love this song so dearly....but then again, I love ALL of HIM's songs. ^_^ Oh, and as for all the HIM haters that post on this song or any HIM song for that matter, quite frankly, no one gives a damn about you saying you hate HIM and they're gay, etc...if you don't like them, stop posting on their lyrics and leave space for their FANS. The lyrics are symbolical, as Ville has already said in various interviews. He always talks about death, which isn't the kind of death we think about. Death is something different in HIM's lyrics... It is all about experiencing extraordinary feelings and feeling not alive anymore due to those experiences
