(Don't Fear) The Reaper (Blue Oyster Cul... Lyrics
All our times have come
Here but now they're gone
Seasons don't fear the reaper
Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain
We can be like they are

Come on baby... Don't fear the Reaper
Baby take my hand... Don't fear the Reaper
We'll be able to fly... Don't fear the Reaper
Baby I'm your man...

Valentine is done
Here but now they're gone
Romeo and Juliet
Are together in eternity...
Romeo and Juliet

40,000 men and women everyday... Like Romeo and Juliet
40,000 men and women everyday... Redefine happiness
Another 40,000 coming everyday...We can be like they are

Come on baby... Don't fear the Reaper
Baby take my hand... Don't fear the Reaper
We'll be able to fly... Don't fear the Reaper
Baby I'm your man...

Love of two is one
Here but now they're gone
Came the last night of sadness
And it was clear we couldn't go on
Then the door was open and the wind appeared
The candles blew and then disappeared
The curtains flew and then he appeared
Saying don't be afraid

Come on baby... And we had no fear
And we ran to him... Then we started to fly
We looked backward and said goodbye
We had become like they are
We had taken his hand
We had become like they are

Come on baby...don't fear the reaper

I like this song it's really nice . Obviously its about two lovers who are planning their suicide so they can be together forever (in death). I just wish the chick in the song could sing better.

This song is basically about love until death and that death should not be feared as a loss of love just another start.... and to join the thousands of people finding happiness within theirselves and their lovers.

====================================
*If you are American, you will not understand this.*
Suffice to say that ‘Chavs’ are the new ‘scum-ruling class', which seems to be taking over the UK, who model themselves on Ali G, oblivious to the fact that he is taking the piss out of them. (Imagine a group of uneducated teenage/ mid twenties Jerry Springer guests, who are all on welfare, who dress in fake Burberry and other brand named items of clothing and spend their time proving how tough they are by picking fights with pensioners and twelve year olds, getting underage girls pregnant and pissing in the street, all the time holding a can of beer in their hand and talking in a weird ‘bastardised version of the English language, which incorporates gangster slang and ‘txt-speak, to form a language which only they seem to understand).
====================================

‘Chav Metal’ implies that Chavs would dare to listen to anything outside the Garage/ R&B/ Commercial dance genres, which we all know, would never happen.

The one thing that Chavs fear more than the word ‘Job’, is the phrase: “Propa Nah,U iz a batty-man, innit?” (For the benefit of our American friends, who won’t know what the fuck that means, it is the Chav version of): “Oh dear, I believe you are a homosexual”, which is the obligatory response from their friends, upon hearing that they have been listening to anything ‘Gofik’ (Chavs view anyone who listens to alternative music, doesn’t dress exactly like them, displays independent thought, has dreams of not remaining on welfare for the rest of their life and who can read, with suspicion and contempt, immediately labelling them a faggot).

1) The closest a Chav will ever get to listening to ‘metal’ is hearing his fake knuckle-duster rings, scraping along the floor, as he drags his knuckles on the ground, ‘Cro-Magnon style‘.

2) HIM are not metal, the are cock-rock (yeah, yeah, hate me all you want, you know I am right).

3)I like attention…

While I hate HIM, I cannot allow this one to go unnoticed. As terrible as I believe HIM to be, they are a million times more talented, than 'Lady sovereign', '2 Live crew' or '3 of a kind' (the latest 'stars' of the hip-hop/ garage scene).

(HIM fans, enjoy this. This about as close as I will ever come to praising HIM)...

don't fear the reaper is just an awesome song, and who better to cover it than HIM!! the song itself kinda reminds me of horror films like halloween nd scream i guess that's because that's where i first heard it! Anywayz this song is based on Romeo and Juliet, i think that these 2 ppl just want to be together forever but feel as life is so cruel that may never happen for them! so they believe that in death they can be together! i also think that they are afraid to die but their telling eachother that they'll be going out together nd that theres nothing to be afraid of, bcoz they will be with eachother, it's kinda sweet in a twisted sorta way! Ville's voice on this track is again sexy as ever and I also like Sanna June Hyde {i think her name is} voice, it's very unique nd blends well wiv Ville's, amazing cover, that's all needs to be said about it!

Well as far as the lyrics, it's about a girl dying and accepting death. The man in the song is the reaper, not some sick boyfriend (he comes through the curtains and takes her away). BTW the last verse is "she" instead of "we" in the original, so I really don't think there's anybody else dying than her. (well besides the 40.000 that die everyday)

Though I love H.I.M. and most of their song, I can't help but hate this one. They really made a crappy cover of one of the most beautiful songs ever written. It's not even good compared to the rest of H.I.M.'s songs.

For those with interest in music try getting the sheets for the original by Blue Oyster Cult and check out the break before the solo. The guitar has one of the hardest parts I've ever seen. Not that it's hard to play as such, but the timing with which he has to enter the arpeggio is soo sick. Try listening and keep the beat during the break, you'll see what I mean. They even did that little thing when playing live.

I like HIM's way of making that part more spooky, but the rest of the track is nowhere as great as the original. The guitar riff (piano in H.I.M.'s version) is a classic that shouldn't be messed with. The last note is played a little too fast giving it a very special feel.

Just go get the original.

This song is amazing. The version by Blue Oyster Cult was a great song, but I like this cover version better. The version by Blue Oyster Cult it way too fast, thus it looses its meaning and depth. This version slows it down so you can understand each part of the song. You can feel the emotion through Ville's voice. So powerful. Love it.

Such a great cover, almost completely different to the original by Blue Oyster Cult, far darker. It's very epic and I love the imagery it creates. It has to be one of the greatest songs HIM have done (not surprising since it's from Greatest Lovesongs)
It's weird, I'd never heard it compared to Peter Pan but I realise now that that's what it does actually make you think of during the last verse

The origional is one of my fav. songs ever, and then I heard this and almost shat my pants. I love the girls voice in it. And the fact that it's HIM, makes it awesome. I can't choose which is better to me, though.
