After the movies
In the parking lot
We stared so long
And you kissed me
With ripe young breath
So I kissed you
One night as forever

In the movies
Well, they never had it so good
One moment
So infinite
On soft wet lips

And I miss you
Are you glad I'm finally gone?
I'm so sorry to hear that
I'm so sorry
I'm so sorry

Have I hurt you?
I have hurt myself
These sad songs won't change anything

Love as fragile as a wineglass
It should have been forever
Love as fragile as a wineglass
It couldn't last forever
I'm so sorry
It couldn't last forever

I remember how we kissed
One night as forever

General Comment:This has got to be the saddest loveworn song I've ever heard. "Are you glad I'm finally gone?" is the saddest line ever. It's obviously about Tim reminiscing about his ex, how he recalled such a memorable moment with her in the parking lot after watching a movie. "One night is forever" he means that it was that moment that will always be in his heart because it's the moment they connected. "Are you glad I'm finally gone? I'm so sorry to hear that. Have I hurt you?" He's crying out to her. "I have hurt myself" so deep. He felt that his faults (if there really were any. A lot of the time, we feel at fault after breakups) caused her to leave, which hurts him deeply. "Love as fragile as a wine glass, it should've been forever." he's saying that he, and she, should've handled the relationship better, cherished it more, not have taken it for granted, and stay with each other and work things out. Cursive writes such deep songs, but I must say that this is the strongest and most touching. I can relate after having my heart broken a few times.

General Comment:this song is one of the most powerful things i have ever heard

it brings back a bitter depressing time in my life but in a kinda good why i nearly tear everytime i hear it

it reminds me so perfectly of how i went to the movies with this one girl and we stayed in the parking lot forever, neither of us ever wanted to leave we kissed for what seemed like hours. nights like this kept happening but one day she just said im through ive found someone else and i was torn up inside for weeks. eventually the same thing happened to her as well, but ill never forget that time. this song makes me feel so good about myself i could listen to it for days

    one night as forever
are you glad im finally gone?

those lines mean so much to me

General Comment:cursive has some of the best lyrics of any band. kasher is a poet. i'd say cursive, mcr and the smashing pumpkins have the best written lyrics of any band.

anyways, i think this song is about a couple who loved each other for a while and wanted it to last forever, but the narrator's lover soon had less interest in him, and the narrator is wondering if its something he did wrong. he says he sorry ("I'm so sorry") and compares the fragile relationship to a wineglass. anything he did could of broken it.

General Comment:i'm listening to it now, and i keep rewinding right to "these sad songs won't change anything." it sounds like two voices say, after "love as fragile as a wine glass," "it could've been forever," and "it should have been forever." there's a definite k- sound, but also a sh- sound.

General Comment:Awww. . . I Hate Hearing Tim Sing This Song. First Time I Saw Cursive They Played This Song && He Cried :( It Was The Sadest Thing Ever Seeing Tim Leave The Stage In Tears :(

I'm Thinking It Was The Last Time He Played That Song Live. I've Seen Them So Many Time After That And Not Once More Have They Played It.

General Comment:Tim is such a bad singer, but I wouldn't have it any other way, it adds to the emotion, and his screaming and near crying kills me.

Somebody said this before me but I agree, I want to live in this song. And I really wish I could scream like that.

General Comment:I definitely agree with MrMakeveli, it is "It should have been forever". but that does not really matter, this song is still amazing

General Comment:In the "Love as fragile as a wineglass" stanza, I am almost positive that the last line is

    "It should have been forever..."

Listen and I think you'll agree. It makes the song even better, if thats possible ;) Instead of something that could never have happened, which is much easier to cope with, it becomes something that was SUPPOSE to happen, but failed.

That makes the song a million times better for me. Something that could never have happened is sad. Something that was suppose to happen but failed because of either of them is TRAGIC.
