Sitting on a carousel ride without any music or light. everything was closed at
Conney Island, and I could not help from smiling.
I can hear the atlantic echo back roller coaster screams from summers past.
And everything was closed at coney island, and I could not help from smiling.
Brooklyn will fill in the beach eventually and everyone will go except me.
Conney Island, and I could not help from smiling.
I can hear the atlantic echo back roller coaster screams from summers past.
And everything was closed at coney island, and I could not help from smiling.
Brooklyn will fill in the beach eventually and everyone will go except me.

It's really peaceful. Simple but complicated.
it creates a picture in my head. i'm not sure if it's a real place, since i've never actually been there before, but it's a very nice place.
this song just sounds so depressing and hopeful at the same time.
this song is about being stuck in a place you loved but nobody else is there with you. The thought of the place makes you "smile" but "everything is closed". You remain in the past in an enjoyable point of your life but everybody else has moved on and you will never leave.
(for now)
By the way, the thunderbolt was not a "precursor" to the cyclone. When Coney Island was at its prime (when my dad was growing up in Brooklyn) there were three main rollercoasters. The Cyclone(still open), the Thunderbolt (the one that was sitting there rotting for a very long time until they finally got rid of it), and the Tornado (which hasnt been ther for a very long time).
