Lyrics for Blitzkrieg Bop as interpreted by kevin

Blitzkrieg Bop Lyrics
Hey, ho, let's go
Hey, ho, let's go
Hey, ho, let's go
Hey, ho, let's go

They're forming in a straight line
They're going through a tight wind
The kids are losing their minds
The Blitzkrieg Bop

They're piling in the back seat
They're generating steam heat
Pulsating to the back beat
The Blitzkrieg Bop

Hey ho, let's go
Shoot them in the back now
What they want, I don't know
They're all revved up and ready to go

I think it\'s about Hitler cause \"They\'re piling in the back seat, they\'re generating steam heat\" reference to the trains or maybe the gas chambers. Just a suggestion not to be an anti-semetic loser prsn

its about the german operation blitzkrieg

ill explain

They're forming in a straight line
They're going through a tight wind
The kids are losing their minds
The Blitzkrieg Bop

this is about the germain soldiers forming up in their lines
all the kids are going crazy with the orders of hitler

They're piling in the back seat
They're generating steam heat
Pulsating to the back beat
The Blitzkrieg Bop.

this is about the tanks and vehicles the germans used
blitzkreig is lightning war and in this operation they mobilised all of their forces

Hey ho, let's go
Shoot'em in the back now
What they want, I don't know
They're all reved up and ready to go

about the concertration camps

this song is what got me into the ramones
heard it on THPS3
didnt know who sung it
whilst doing a project at school on WWII and operation blitzkrieg a kid asked our teacher if he knew the ramones
he had but didint know their music
this kid sung him this song and when i got home i did some research and got a whole lot of thei music

these guys are on the top of my list along with AC/DC

sorry for the double psot but i just realized
i think "goin through a tight wind"
is supposed to be "goin through taiwan"
dont know why
doesnt make much sense to me this way but thats what it sounds like

damn now this is a tripple post
but i think
Pulsating to the back beat
is supposed to be
obtained through the back beat
this is refering to steam heat generated by the back beat as in the beat of the motors in the tanks they were in

And, I apologise for my last post. Tommy Ramone wrote this song. Some Ramones fan I am! :p

Anyway, I read somewhere that Tommy wrote this about going to a gig.

i read somewhere that tommy wrote this song and dee dee contributed to the title and he changed one line. He changed 'They're shouting in the back now' to 'Shoot 'em in the back now' To him that made sense.
If this is true, this song was probably wrote about the rock crowds, it has the chant Hey Ho, Lets Go and isn't an angry song, but it was changed to mean both - Blitzkrieg = lighting war (what makes us angry) and Bop = a kind of dance (what the crowds do - dance and mosh away the anger).

This is about the Battle of Britian during world war two which was an air battle between Britian and Germany fought between a small strech of sea between England and France. As mentioned by others, the word "Blitzkrieg" is German for "lightning war". This is the name of the tactic used by Adolf Hitler in the opening years of the war (1939-1941). The fact that this song mentiones planes and shooting and has the word "blitzkrieg" in its title suggests that it's about the Battle of Britian because it was an aerial battle fought in the the "Blitzkrieg" years of the war (1939-1941).

No way whofreak777! The Who as punk? Punks loathed moders, and The Who were like the embodiment of a mod. Mod's were about being fashionable and "modern," which translated into an excuse to be really stuck-up and pretentious. That's pretty much the antithesis to everything punk. Saying The Who's punk is quite a stretch.

ok, it's about the german tactics of the war, duh, "lightning war". But you're missing how the song explains the "steamheat" or basically the vibe of the youth at the time - their generation were shipped out to "shootem in the back"..war at such a young age with such a vibrant generation.

I'm a nerd so I looked up the word "blitzkrieg". It means a fast, hard, and furious war. I'm not sure about the whole Hitler thing, though it makes sense. Simply because the Ramones' earliest songs were just about things they knew, and I'm not so sure they were heavily involved or interested in WWII at the time. What they wanted was a catchy line, so they made up. "Hey ho, let's go!" which is now the punk national anthem call, grew out of this and I honestly think they just built a song around it. Since they sang about things they know, I think they may be speaking of the "war" of growing up poor in Queens, as they did. And I know that Tommy added the brilliant line of "Shoot 'em in the back now".
