Lyrics for Blitzkrieg Bop as interpreted by kevin

Blitzkrieg Bop Lyrics
Hey ho, let's go! Hey ho, let's go!
Hey ho, let's go! Hey ho, let's go!

They're forming in straight line
They're going through a tight wind
The kids are losing their minds
The Blitzkrieg Bop

They're piling in the back seat
They're generating steam heat
Pulsating to the back beat
The Blitzkrieg Bop

Hey ho, let's go
Shoot'em in the back now
What they want, I don't know
They're all revved up and ready to go

They're forming in straight line
They're going through a tight wind
The kids are losing their minds
The Blitzkrieg Bop

They're piling in the back seat
They're generating steam heat
Pulsating to the back beat
The Blitzkrieg Bop

Hey ho, let's go
Shoot'em in the back now
What they want, I don't know
They're all revved up and ready to go

They're forming in straight line
They're going through a tight wind
The kids are losing their minds
The Blitzkrieg Bop

They're piling in the back seat
They're generating steam heat
Pulsating to the back beat
The Blitzkrieg Bop

Hey ho, let's go! Hey ho, let's go!
Hey ho, let's go! Hey ho, let's go!

I think this song is about WWII and Hitler. During WWII, Hitler used a technique called a "Blitzkrieg" which meant that he would heavily bomb a city and right after sent troops to fight such as paratroopers.

BLITZKRIEG - roughly translated means lightning speed.

It is a German word, and the NAZI's air force would perform "Blitzkrieg bombings" of cities. Meaning they would heavily bomb them very suddenly and very quickly.

The song itself seems to refer to this meaning [They're going through a tight wind ], but I don't think it is totaly about that, but rather about dancing to the music getting excited. Perhaps a reference to the early Pogo dancing. It is hard to tell with the ramones since often lyrics don't make a lot of sense.

ROCKLOB has the right definition of Blitzkrieg. In this case the "Biltzkrieg Bop" is a reaction (dancing) to a hard, fast type of music that takes you over in a surprise attack.

It's all about the punk music (new back then) that the Ramones busted out with.

I think this song rocks, but still every poser-punk has heard the song and they all think its called Hey Ho Lets Go that really pisses me off, I'm one of the only people in my school who listens to the Ramones other really awesome songs which there are a whole lot of and all the people who are into pop-punk dislike me for it they are idiots

RAMONES are my favorite band and no one listens to them here so it kicks ass... i can sing all their songs and no poser fucks will try to copy... JOEY R.I.P.
this is a song i think about kids just trying to get loose and just have a good time and bop to the music. and no one knows what is going on they are all just trying to be themselves and having fun (hehehe don't ask how i get soo much out of a tiny song)

After several months i have come back to read my very first post on this website. I have to say this though, why do you guys give Rocklob all of the credit for defining Blitzkrieg if I was the FIRST one to say what it was. He might have said it in more detail, but I was the FIRST to say what the damn word meant. I will come back in a couple of months (maybe earlier). Peace, Love, Unity.

i don't give a fu*k what the song means but i do know that the ramones are the ones that invented punk rock and Blitzkrieg Bop is an anthem for anyone who really knows punk.
