Run desire run
Sexual being
Run him like a blade
To and through the heart
No conscience
One Motive
Cater to the hollow

Screaming feed me here
Fill me up again
Temporarily pacify this hungering
So grow
Libido throw
Dominoes of indiscretions down
Falling all around
In cycles
In circles
Constantly consuming
Conquer and devour

Cause it's time to bring the fire down
Bridle all this indiscretion
Long enough to edify
And permanently fill this hollow

Screaming feed me here
Fill me up again
Temporarily pacifying

Feed me here
Fill me up again
Temporarily pacifying

My Interpretation:This song is about one thing: sex. A Perfect Circle? Metaphor for the vagina. Maybe because I'm a woman, but most of their tunes are so incredibly sensual and sexual. Hot, hot, hot.

General Comment:the authors, and I suppose that the copyright is wrong, beneath the lyrics the description is talking about Pantera's "Hollow"

My Interpretation:Seems to be about someone who is very egocentric but still wants his sexual desires satisfied in an attempt to fill the void he feels: the void of affection. Rather than seeking a long lasting relationship he chooses the easy way, seeking sexual intercourse in an attempt to fill that void, but realising each time again that after a short while the void is there again and that sex without feelings involved will never permanently fill the void he experiences.

General Comment:The hollow inside him screams and tells him to feed it. All he wants is the screaming to stop, so he feeds his hollow the only way he knows to. the way he was taught, to conquer and devour. He turns to emotionless sex as an escape, he uses people to cater to his hollow and only manage to temporarily pacify it. He becomes stuck in circles he can't break out of.

He tries to stop, take control of his indiscretion. long enough to break free and rid himself of this lack of control.

    But his hollow still screams.

That's my interpretation, this is the perfect start to an awesome album.

General Comment:I think it might be'Hollow conscience, instead of 'heart, no conscience'. Anyone???

General Comment:I agree with most of the comments here but theres something more to this song. When keenan says "conquer and devour," he is referring to the *obsession* for sex. And he accepts it, in fact encourages it. "Run desire," "grow libido," are commands he is giving himself.

General Comment:To me this song is about how there is an emptiness in most people's lives. They don't know what is missing, so they try and 'fill' it with whatever they feel works, and that can mean any kind of addiction, sex, drugs, food, anything that can temporarily end their craving, and make them feel whole, even though its only for a short time. I look at the people in my life and how they fill their hollow, like my mom who fills it with religion and others who fill it with trying to find an escape, like tv, video games, etc. Its really sad when you think about it, how many people can honestly say that they are truly happy and lead fulfilling lives?

General Comment:it's not about sex, it's about masturbation. unresolving urge and afterward feeling of emptiness after you satisfy your self without having sex. compared with food, sex would be like a good meal in a good restaurant, and hunger addressed here is being satisfied with snackbar, chocolate, candy of something at hand.

My Interpretation:First and foremost its (correction in the **'s)

    Run, desire, run
Sexual being, run him like a blade
To and through the heart, no conscience, one
Motive, to cater to the hollow

    Screamin' feed me here
    Fill me up again
    Temporarily
    Pacify this hungerin' *so cruel*

So grow, libido, throw ... etc

2nd most its about sex contrasted to relationship. Mostly 2nd person mostly from a man's perspective ONLY because it says "run HIM like a blade."

So the woman takes the sexual being man, runs to and through his heart to fill her hollow. Eventually she will bridle her indiscretion (marriage or permanent relationship) long enough to edify (the rest of her life) to [hopefully] permanently fill her hollow. Alas it fails. Thus the closing chorus. Emphasis on things being temporary.

General Comment:i think this has something to do with Freud's concept of the Id, or the subconscious mind's attempts to satisfy the body's "pleasure principle"
