  General Comment:Yeah, the first thing I thought when looking at the lyrics was not that he was talking about a girl in a metaphoric way, but it sounds like the story of Romeo and Juliet. But someone seems to have beaten me to say "Romeo and Juliet". And some people are saying that the girl is "poisonous" or like a "toxin", but it says that she was the prey, not the other way around. "A prey she was to the cruelty of love". It really reminds me of Romeo and Juliet, though, because it talks about love being out to get them ("love wants us dead"), and that's kinda what happened in Romeo and Juliet. Their love never ended up being a good thing, and it was kinda like it was out to get them. Because of love, there was death. It also talks about death in the song ("and love's heart is death"). And also "the coldest kiss love ceased to exist" is the thing that most makes me think about Romeo and Juliet, because the coldest kiss can be considered when she kissed his body, and love ceased to exist after that because that's when she decided to die with him. But, I still believe that this wasn't based off of Romeo and Juliet, because it talks about the poison going to her heart, and she didn't actually get poisoned, she ended up stabbing herself (I think she did, at least. I'm not completely sure).
  Either way, I think it's better to say that the drug theory makes more sense. It sounds like she was either on drugs and died, but it talks about her being prey to the cruelty of love... so maybe it was a suicide? Like, she was heart-broken or something, and in turn it got to her head, and she killed herself? It's really hard to tell... Ah, this is making my brain hurt >.< But, I think the guy saw the girl die from drugs or something.

  General Comment:I'd just like to get it out there that this song is actually for his ex ex girlfriend Susana, he dedicated the entire album to her, especially this one song in particular.
  
  He admitted this when they interviewed him asking him "what's the stupidest thing you have done for love?" and he of course stated that it was this, dedicating such a thing to her when he knew it would be distributed to his fans and into the media

  General Comment:I've got to put my drunken two cents in. This song is awesome--1.
  
  But more importantly, When i hear this song, i can only think about an old best friend of mine that i always thought of as a toxin. I did everything i could for her, just because i really did love her like a sister. But when it came down to it, she was a toxin to the fullest. She was a poison girl. You could fold her laundry or save her life, and in the end it didnt matter. "I did it all just for her" Every time i hear it, i think about the things i lost and how it wasnt worth it. The song puts that time perfectly for me.

  General Comment:yeah, I agree with all the ppl who thinks it has to do with drugs, or it could be something else, his/ville's/who ever's girlfriend has become a bicth or sumthing, and he needs to leave her, because he sees that he just gets miserable by being with her, and that he wants to leave her alone, cuz he want her to recover by her self, and he thinks that is the best solution
