I need to be myself
I can't be no one else
I'm feeling supersonic
Give me gin and tonic

You can have it all but how much do you want it?
You make me laugh
Give me your autograph
Can I ride with you in your BMW ?

You can sail with me in my yellow submarine
You need to find out
Cause no one's gonna tell you what I'm on about
You need to find a way for what you want to say

But before tomorrow
Cause my friend said he'd take you home
He sits in a corner all alone
He lives under a waterfall

No body can see him
No body can ever hear him call
You need to be yourself
You can't be no one else

I know a girl called Elsa
She's into Alka Seltzer
She sniffs it through a cane on a supersonic train
She made me laugh

I got her autograph
She done it with a doctor on a helicopter
She's sniffin in her tissue
Sellin' the Big Issue

She needs to find out
Cause no one's gonna tell you what I'm on about
She needs to find a way for what you want to say
But before tomorrow

Cause my friend said he'd take you home
He sits in a corner all alone
He lives under a waterfall
No body can see him

No body can ever hear him call

    General Comment:Batman.
For some reason I feel like this song is about Batman.
    Think about it.
The chorus works for Batman, and the verses work for Bruce Wayne, billionaire playboy extraordinaire.
Obviously, I don't think the song was actually written about this, since I'm thinking about the Dark Knight trilogy, which came out well after this song was written, but in my head, it fits.

General Comment:LOL that is brilliant, someones been on the wacky backy. By far the best thing I've read on here even though I'm tempted to just dismiss it as annoying.

General Comment:No, no, NO!! You idiots, you plebs, you noobs! You know nothing! I can't believe how ignorant you all are, its makes me so angry. As Noel Gallagher says in this song, "You need to find out, cos no-ones gonna tell you what I'm on about." Fortunately he was incorrect in this statement, because I am here to tell you what he's on about.
To understand this song, I mean to really GET it, we need to first ask ourselves, who is this mysterious "friend" NG refers to? The one who is going to drive "you" home? What do we know about this "friend"? Well first of all, he lives under a waterfall. Who lives under a waterfall? Trolls and fish. So that narrows it down to one of these.
But now we find out that nobody can see this friend. Well, this further narrows it down: the friend has to be a troll or ogre, because I imagine trolls are capable of making themselves invisible, I mean elves and sprites can do this, so why not a troll. But then again, I guess nobody can see fish either because they are under the water. Okay now you're probably confused at this point, but I'm not. I know what's going on.
So the next point. Nobody can hear Noel's "friend" when he calls. Well of course not, he's behind a waterfall. Difficult to hear somebody calling when their voice is muffled by a waterfall.
This all raises some questions: How can Noel be friends with somebody he can't even see? How can he go out to the pub with this person if this person can't even "call" him to arrange a meeting?
Obviously it makes sense that Noel can visit this friend in his "yellow submarine". He's spelled this bit out at least. But how can this troll visit him? He'll be hounded by anti-ogre killing vigilantes if he leaves his waterfall home.
And why would Noel trust this person, who is probably an ogre or a troll, to drive "you" home?
Would the troll or ogre even want to drive "you" home, where do "you" live? What if it's miles away from the waterfall and miles out of the ogre's way? What if this makes the ogre angry and he attacks or eats you? Why would Noel expose "you" to such a grave danger, of being eaten by an angry ogre, just seconds after "you" have made him laugh and he has asked for your autograph? What kind of gratitude is that?
Well maybe "you" refused to give him your autograph and that's why he's pissed off. You know what the Gallaghers are like you fool, why would "you" do such a thing? Because "you" are a noob and a pleb, that's why.
I think we can deduce from all this that
    1. Noel is on drugs.
And well that's about it really.
See you were all wrong and I am right. I know more about this song, and I care about it more than you. Suck it up losers. You can have it all, but how much do you want it? Not enough, unfortunately. Peace out. Live forever.

General Comment:I have no idea what this song means but I like it. I like how in Elliott Smith's cover he says "you can have it all but why would you want it?" Love that line - the original line ("you can have it all but how much do you want it?) and especially Elliott's version.

General Comment:the lyrics arent 'nonsense' u retards, this song paints a picture of working class, unemployed drunken drugged up life and the despair that comes with growing up with no aspirations in this environment. the verses are about this mundane lifestyle and the chorus/pre-chorus is a warning - make an effort to get out or you'll end up like the dude in the chorus: alone, drunken (under a waterfall) and invisible. fucking brilliant song

noel isnt shallow with his lyrics, theyre honest and have meaning, if you cant see it go listen to justin bieber

General Comment:"You can sail with me in my yellow submarine"
    Obvious reference to the Beatles.

"'Cause my friend said he'd take you home
He sits in a corner all alone
    He lives under a waterfall
    Nobody can see him
Nobody can ever hear him call"

Perhaps an imaginary friend.Or even the writer's alter ego.

By the way,I love the feeling that I get from this song.

Oh,and I almost forgot: supersonic = faster than the sound.
