Lyrics for Live Forever as interpreted by deathchurch

Live Forever Lyrics
Maybe I don't really want to know
How your garden grows
I just want to fly
Lately did you ever feel the pain
In the morning rain
As it soaks you to the bone

Maybe I just want to fly
I want to live I don't want to die
Maybe I just want to breath
Maybe I just don't believe
Maybe you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see
You and I are gonna live forever

I said maybe I don't really want to know
How your garden grows
'Cause I just want to fly
Lately did you ever feel the pain
In the morning rain
As it soaks you to the bone

Maybe I will never be
All the things that I want to be
But now is not the time to cry
Now's the time to find out why
I think you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see
You and I are gonna live forever
We're gonna live forever
Gonna live forever
Live forever
Forever

for those of u who think this is a love song, you are sadly mistaken. In an interview, Noel said that this song was about the lead singer of Nirvana and was written about how he felt about his death. He feels that, as an artist, ppl never really kno how hard it is to deal with the media until they have actually experienced it and tht "we've seen things they'll never see"

great song, great band

I honestly believe everyone wants to live forever. Noel said that he wrote this song after hearing the song I Hate Myself And I Want To Die by Nirvana and he knew that kids looked up to Kurt so he wrote this as kind of a counter punch to mortality. I will say this is going to be a dirge of mine.

this is litteraly THE best song I've ever heard!
its the song of my life! and its the song i will want my love ones listen to when i die!

"We're gonna live forever!"

PS: as simple as it might be, I think this song has the greatest guitar solo of rockn roll! ever!

i looked through all these comments, and i am quite surprised that no one has seen it how i do. about drugs by any chance???

"Maybe I don't really want to know
How your garden grows"
- doesnt care how the drugs have grown (weed, coke, heroin?)

"I just want to fly"
- fly high on drugs

"Lately did you ever feel the pain
In the morning rain
As it soaks you to the bone"
- how you feel after, as he is unaware of the rain and just standing there

"Maybe I just want to fly
I want to live I don't want to die
Maybe I just want to breath
Maybe I just don't believe"
- again flying high, dont want to die, feel immortal when stoned. dont believe that what hes doing is wrong.

"Maybe you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see
You and I are gonna live forever"
- the same, also do drugs, things they'll never see, well could be hallucinations, live forever, again feeling immortal.

well thats just how i read it.

I think this is about being in love with somebody and by being in love, it puts everything in to perspective. This person isn't interested in things other people are interested in, or maybe what he used to be interested in. He just wants to love and forget everything and he wants nothing in his way, which is what most people feel when they're in love.

This song is incredible. He just says how he doesn't want to believe everything people say, like death. It can totally relate to everybody at some point in their life.

It's just a great big shut up to depression and people who moan about life. At first i thought the garden was a pathetic rhyming mechanism (and still think they could have done better) but now i think it represents someone moaning about how they feel 'down' when "Maybe I just want to fly". And saying you're gonna "live forever" is just a blunt contradiction to everyone who jam packs their lives with worry and who concentrate on the negative aspects.

That said, what a song for a rich rockstar to sing when he knows that he doesn't have any problems to deal with.

the songs about not killing ya self, noel said even tho he liked kurt cobain he was sick of his depressed attitude. he even quoted one of kurts tracks "i hate my self and i want to die" noel said some american millionaire has everything and is depressed about it! noel said he aint got a pot to piss in but he still saw waking up in the morning as the best feeling in the world!!! if you look at the lyrics

"maybe i will never be all the things that i want to be, now is not the time to cry nows the time to find out why"

sort of dont feel sorry for your self, improve your self!

and a message to you 3kaiser, if you know anything about oasis you will see that when noel wrote that song it was before he was famous. as it was on his first album, do you think the record label will give him millions with out having any songs already written????

Poor souls. This isn't a metaphorical song -- it's writer, Noel Gallagher, honestly feels like he's going to live forever. You know, as in live. Forever. Not in the hearts and minds of others. I suppose if you don't relate to this condition you'll have to pass it off as an obtuse aside. But trust me, it's not.
