I think it might but am pretty sure it's not about jail. Either him/her, him/him/ her/him, her/her are in love with each other but one goes to jail. The song explains how him/her says while others have forgoten about him/her but they are still faithfully waiting. But in the ending they don't come back. Maybe it's just metaphoricly.

Or it could be similar but in context to death. Wow, I just babled a lot. I love oasis but am not quite sure they live up to the beatles. They kinda have a huge ego to say that they are better than the beatles and are equal to the rolling stones. So there words make me think the oppisite.

I think, to me, it sounds like he's singing to a close friend.This person, used to be a well like person by everyone. But they have done something really screwed up. Mabey got caught up in drugs. "Today was gonna be the day but they'll never throw it back to you. By now you shoulda somehow realized what you're not to do I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now" But the person singing it doesnt by into the hype, because they still see the good on the inside . And through it all, the addict will still be the singers "wonderwall" when times get tough. Just my opinion.

i cannot begin to describe the emotional value this song has to me and i think you're all pathetic to be using the space below to argue whether the beatles or oasis are better. the two bands are legendary in their own ways but are from totally different eras, forget trying to compare them it is derogatory to each band.
i have lived this song, it ties in with love not running smoothly- all the roads are windind demonstrated hte stumbles and difficulties of love and a relationship. the writer is in love, it is clear. i think the lyric 'i don't believe that anybody feels the way i do about you now' is incredibly beautiful.Relying on somebody to get over someone else or simply relying on someone to save you from the pain of not being loved.

So bascially it all comes down to now this one moment, and you really should have planned what you were going to do but you haven't and you just know that your the one person in the world who wants this person and their perfect for you, but just haven't realized it.

this part to me means that that person knows you want them and need them and they want you too but they can't they've never had doubts about feelings like this, you always just go with love but what if you can't love that person, to me i see this song as two people, one who does drugs and one who doesn't, say this boy doesn't do drugs and this girl does stupid drugs a lot. And the boy wants to know her but has been hurt in the past and watched people go down the drain after using drugs and doesn't want to see that happen to someone again so he wants this girl but he can't because he doesn't want to be hurt that bad, and watch another loved one fall apart. But that girl is convinced that this boy can save her she'll give up everything for this boy completely sober up and change and all she needs is her wonderwall to save her but he just can't let himself be hurt, he won't take the chance. This boys feeling lost and confused but so is the girl, everything leads somewhere else,... all the roads are winding// all the lights are blinding. This is real love nothings cookie cutter its all chances with this relationship and the girl just wants to be saved and is in love with this boy who's too scared to save her.

So you've realized that the boys not going to save you you should h ave realized no one will but you can't help but love this boy you need him you want him, you know he can save you he's perfect and nobody else feels the way you do, you need him bad. I think this song is about a difficult relationship of some sort, where one of them feels let down and misunderstood, and maybe takes a break from the other person, while hoping that that he/she after a while will understand and know what to do. Hoping, hoping, hoping, knowing that the way back to a good relationship is hard. Reminds me of my relationship whit my ex, and my relationship with my father.
I love this song.

The meaning of this song is quite simple. I think he kinda has feelings for somebody but don't know how to tell them.
"I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now," this line gives it all away.

I love this song. What I think it means is someone who just got out of a serious relationship and then they find another person but they're afraid of getting hurt again yet at the same time this new person might be the one who saves them from their heartbreak and pain from the previous reationship

I think this song is about someone who is so deeply in love with another person and he is unsure how they feel back. At first he thought she loved him and they wouldbe together always. and slowly he is realizing the love of his life doesn't feel the same way and it bothers him. No one could ever love her like he does, "I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do, about you now"

To me, its definitely about love. The only reason why I think this though is because of the meaning of wonderwall. I think wonderwall represents someone you can lean on for support, hence "You're gonna be the one that saves me".

This is one of those songs that totally brings back memories of old friends and classmates. I was in junior high when this song came out, and EVERYONE knew it. It was all over the radio, and everyone I knew memorized the lyrics. To this day, it's not possible to hear this song and not sing along at the top of your lungs. Regardless of what it might or might not be about, it will always have a special place in my heart.

I always wondered what wonderwall meant... I had some someone tell me awhile ago that I was his "wonderwall". I knew the song, had heard it a million of times before, but I wasn't told this until about 3 or 4 years ago. So when I listened to it, I knew it's meaning was nice, but still didn't really get the meaning of "Wonderwall". After reading all of these (well, not nearly all), I kind of got my clue. Yes I had a very serious boyfriend at the time, and this guy was crazy about me. We were very good friends and had gotten quite close. I kind of look back on him being the "I wonder if..." guy. Someone I will never get the chance with, but I know it would have been good. So maybe that's really what wonderwall means. We could have saved each other from our everyday lives, we could have been the thing that no one else could be for each other, we could have been incredible, but never really had a chance... but I will always wonder!! ;)

He's in a bad part of his life when he meets her ("maybe you're gonna be the one that saves me", "all the roads we have to walk are winding" etc)... He loves her, she's everything to him and he doesn't know how to tell her.

The song can be read in many disparate ways, but these different interpretations can also be woven together to deliver one single message...

So we have a Wonderwall, representing the physical wall that the Gallagher brothers used to express their deepest thoughts, sentiments, aches, dreams, etc.; it literally is a wall of wonder, the entity upon which they/he projected his ideals upon. Later in life, the wall turns into a person (yes, somewhat a crude transformation, suspend the awkwardness). The person is both real and imaginary in that the singer doesn't know them personally, rather idealizes them by projecting onto them everything he imagines perfection to mean to him, a saving grace. She is "his" through and through, and the possessiveness is clear in the line "I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now" as in the end, after all, she is just a figment of his imagination, and he knows this. This ties in with George Harrison's film of the same name, which depicts a man infatuated with a girl he doesn't know but whom he watches through a wall. He attempts, slowly, painstakingly, fearfully to demolish it with small holes, but the wall remains, both a source of strength as it is the only means by which he has access to her, but also the infuriating barrier that keeps her away from her. The concept of the wall is fluid - person, barrier - he sees the girl as part of the wall, so they are essentially one and the same.

Today, on this day, maybe every day, he toys with the idea of actualizing his fantasy, but in the end, after all, she's his wonderwall, and by acting it out he would destroy the only thing that can potentially save him, and that is himself - he is the source of salvation (I think...haven't totally made up my mind about this yet...."maybe" is such a strong word, repeated throughout...he retains the hope that it can become reality). But in the meantime, today isn't that day, hence the change in the verses from present to past, from "gotta do", to "not to do", reflecting the realization of the impossibility. Yes, the poem is being torn apart from all sides by contradiction, and therein lies the beauty and the tragedy of the situation.

So yes, it is about an imaginary person, I don't see it any other way.
