Lyrics for Wonderwall as interpreted by kevin

Wonderwall Lyrics
Today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you
By now you shoulda somehow realized what you gotta do
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now
Back beat, the word is on the street that the fire in your heart is
out
I'm sure you've heard it all before but you never really had a doubt
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now
And all the roads we have to walk are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you
But I don't know how
Because maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
And after all
You're my wonderwall
Today was gonna be the day but they'll never throw it back to you
By now you shoulda somehow realized what you're not to do
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now
And all the roads that lead you there were winding
And all the lights that light the way are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you
But I don't know how
I said maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
And after all
You're my wonderwall
I said maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
And after all
You're my wonderwall
I said maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
You're gonna be the one that saves me
You're gonna be the one that saves me

Oasis is AMAZING, but the beatles are Classic. No way to bet them. Anyway this song is pretty self-expentory, but from what I read, like most songs, it means alot of differnt things to differnt peaple. Old school days, friends, boyfriends, summer flings ect ect.

Anway to me, it's about a guy i really really really like for like three years and he doesn't feel the same. -Were like best friends- and we went out in middle school, I broke up with him and I've regreated it every day since ^_^

I'm not really sure what it's about, but I actually got sick of it after hearing it played on the radio stations over and over. I just heard a version from Ryan Adams and I really liked it

liam (i still believe that his parents actually named him "lame", but he's too retarded to spell it properly) is such a fucking asshole. he needs to shut his huge fucking faggothole of a mouth he sounds like a lawn mower that needs to be oiled.

by the way, i don't know if maybe i'm just having trouble with my hearing, but it seems that there are some problems with the posted lyrics here. see, when i listen to this song, i don't hear "Today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you
By now you shoulda somehow realized what you gotta do". Instead, I hear "lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame lame"

Oasis? more like Ogaysis.

to me personally,
this song is about loosing yourself and who you are in life.
"all the roads that lead you there were winding and all the lights that light the way are blinding".
so all the things that where suppost to be helpful in life were just making it worse and making you feel more and more lost.

and you start giving up on yourself.
"Back beat, the word is on the street that the fire in your heart is out" "Today was gonna be the day but they'll never throw it back to you"

but then you find something or someone(or it finds you), wether its a person, a band, a hobbie or music, and it just pulls you back. you have faith again.
"Maybe, You're gonna be the one that saves me"

you want to show your gratetude and thank the person/thing but nothing you can put in to words can measure up what they have done for you.
"I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now" "There are many things that I would like to say to you But I don't know how"

i never really understood why anyone thought the beatles were all that good...i listen to the beatles occasionally but i think there are a lot of bands that are better than them. oasis included. and in response to ashowofhands...you're sorta gay for coming here to trash oasis. i hate boys like girls a lot but i don't go over to their lyrics and say their singer should shut his faggothole...mostly because i dunno what a faggothole really is...guess i just haven't been downtown lately. good song though. i think it's sort of about how when you're down and feel like shit someone's there to pick you up and help you through the shit and how you're thankful for it but just sorta lost for words 'cos of how much they helped you.

I personally think this song is about the person you love who doesn't acknowlege that they love you. Something like the person who's afraid of commitment and doesn't want to tell you "yes," because they're afraid they'll miss something else that comes along. It's about the time when they realize that what they were waiting for isn't coming, or isn't what they wanted, and then they look at you and see that what they wanted was in front of them the whole time. "I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now." That spells it out for me. Being that person who is there for them when all of their other "friends" have abandoned them, and being the person they know will be behind them to pick them up when they fall.

this song is about loving someone in spite of their imperfections and your imperfections and recognising/hoping that though things might be hard at times it'll all be worth it because they mean that much to you.
it's so appropriate to my relationship right now.

What the heck?! This argument began on the first page! And it's STILL GOING ON! AH! I of course only read one comment on the first page and one on the last. They were both about how "Oasis is WAY better than the Beatles" and then some other guy's like "no way! The Beatles are the best band ever". I mean, there's like .0000001 percent of the people here that are actually talking about the song. That's like...point sumthin'. Well anyway, stop talking about The Beatles. Although...The Beatles are better than Oasis. I mean, c'mon.

Well first, the question when you comment on this asks "What does this song mean to you?" I think that the person above me is right in saying that the whole Beatles argument has nothing to do with this and I couldn't find a single person's opinion on the song's meaning.

Anyway, I'm thinking maybe it's something about a guy who loves a girl, thinks life's tough, but thinks that she's the thing that'll get him through it.
Something like that... maybe...

this song to me, describes the feelings of someone who has been heartbroken by someone they love, and wanting to say so many things to them, but being afraid to say them becasue maybe they are angry words, or maybe becasue they dont want to push them any further away becasue one day they might come back.

"There are many things that I would like to say to you
But I don't know how
Because maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
And after all
You're my wonderwall"

get me??

i think it's about his brother Noel, and them trying to figure out how to succeed with their music. they're brothers that are at odds most of the time but obviously love eachother, and Noel writes most of the music but has a tougher time expressing it than Liam.

"By now you should've somehow realized what you gotta do // what you're not to do."

i think this is directed at Noel, and then the lines about winding roads and blinding lights are just figures of speech for the trials and tribulations of bringing a band together to portray your ideas.

it just doesn't seem apt that Liam is the type of soppy guy that would sing a tune about a girl -- i'm sure he has few issues getting laid. however, i'd also imagine that Noel and Liam are creative enough to keep most of their writing open for interpretation, as many artists do.

this song could just as easily be about a lover as it could a close friend or family member.

Not sure why so much commentary is about Oasis Vs. The Beatles...anyway, one of the things that first struck me way back in 95 when I heard this song for the very first time was that it had a certain "Beatles-esque" quality to it...not mimicky, but evocative. And in a good way. It's one of those great, great songs where the lyrics are so vague, they could apply to just about situation, but there's something about it where even if you don't know exactly what it means, it hits you on some gut level. I've always kind of thought it was breaking up but still loving someone, and trying to figure out what happens next. At any rate, it's a really beautiful song and makes me nostaligic for those late 90's (and not many things do).

SO i'm not sure if this is true , but i heard this song is about an imaginary friend? imagine telling your signifcant other that [arguably] your most famous song that everyone thinks is about a girlfriend or wife or whatever , is actually about your childhood imaginary friend.
i thought that was strange , but insanely adorable.

I believe this song is about observing a 'crush' if you will that you may like, that isn't exactly the most liked person. They get a chance to prove themselves, but they've failed at it. It's open to much interpretation and is definitely one of the songs that probably has a million and one memories and therefore ideas associated with it.

That's the way I see it, but there can be millions of interpretations, the biggest problem is the term 'wonder wall' most likely, since it's not exactly a word you hear (AT ALL) or associate with anything. I believe it could also mean a solitary strong person in a similar setting as above. Perhaps even describing himself from a distance and switching between views. The video does not lend itself to helping with this. I've also yet to hear of any actual meaning from the band.

I think the line

And all the roads we have to walk are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding

means that we cant see the future and that there will always be problems.

To me, it's about two people who like each other but, for some reason, they don't admit it. They try to figure out what the other person feels and they never can have a clear picture of this...

I'd say this song is about really loving and needing someone, know matter how.

And I just don't care about what people say about Oasis, and even less about how many times this track was played on the radios. This is the best song I've ever heard, from the best album I've ever heard.

great song but it's disappointing how so many other oasis classics are overlooked. Don't look back in anger, for instance, has roughly a 100 comments and it's quite possibly better than this song, as good as it is
