Lyrics for Wonderwall as interpreted by kevin

Wonderwall Lyrics
Today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you
By now you shoulda somehow realized what you gotta do
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now
Back beat, the word is on the street that the fire in your heart is
out
I'm sure you've heard it all before but you never really had a doubt
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now
And all the roads we have to walk are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you
But I don't know how
Because maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
And after all
You're my wonderwall
Today was gonna be the day but they'll never throw it back to you
By now you shoulda somehow realized what you're not to do
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now
And all the roads that lead you there were winding
And all the lights that light the way are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you
But I don't know how
I said maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
And after all
You're my wonderwall
I said maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
And after all
You're my wonderwall
I said maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
You're gonna be the one that saves me
You're gonna be the one that saves me

I'm currently in a kind of tough situation... and I've been having some issues lately.. But there's a guy I've met a few times and he just amazes me. He has a girlfriend but somehow I felt a connection. It's like he has the power to save me when I'm almost drowning... but I can only hope something is going to happen, cause it's a pretty hopeless case I'm afraid. (The roads are winding, the lights are blinding -> meaning there are obstacles along the way that always interfere whenever the singer feels he's getting somewhere)

'& I don't believe that anybody, feels the way I do about you now.' Marvellous.

"Backbeat the word is on the street that the fire in your heart is out, I'm sure you've heard it all before but you've never really had a doubt..

I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do, about you now"

Pure attitude, pure character, pure swagger, pure love, pure brilliance.

I always thought it was about a failed relationship and even after the fact he can't get over her. He is down miserable and shes the only one that can save him from himself.

My interpretation is at the bottom, you can skip the story if you want. :]

My boyfriend and I met when we were both struggling alot with personal issues. I was extremely depressed and it showed in everything I did. Even when I thought I was happy people would ask me why I was so depressed. I had been diagnosed with PMDD and general anxiety disorder. My boyfriend is bipolar and has always struggled emotionally. He was out on bond for being charged with a felony when we met, and had a drug and alcohol problem. Then we got into a car crash where the car flipped and we're VERY lucky to have not been injured let alone lived through it. He was then charged with DUI and was put in jail. (where he has been for 6 months now for breaking the bond) Since I'm still a minor (I'm 16, he's 18), the cops had to call my parents and tell them what happened so they flipped and tried to press charges (luckily they fell through.) I was then forbidden to see him, so I tried to forget him and just couldn't, my love just grew stronger each day we were apart. We had such a connection. So I wrote to him, and he wrote back, and we're still together. My parents have found out we've been talking, and they disapprove because they think we'll drag one another down because of our pasts.(We really do the opposite!!) But, we've saved eachother! And afterall, he's my wonderwall. . . :]

here's my interpretation:
-"I dont believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now"
(people say he's a psycho criminal, but all I see is beauty. Yeah, he has faults, but we all do, and he's beautiful in every way to me.)

-"and all the roads we have to walk are winding. . .and all the lights that light the way are blinding"

(It'll be hard because we wont have support of many people, and not many people endeavor in sustaining such a relationship, but we're doing it because we love one another)

-"there are many things that I would like to say to you but I don't know how"
(we could never fully put into words how we feel for eachother. you cant translate the heart)

-"Maybe you're gonna be the one that saves me and afterall you're my wonderwall"
(despite societal, family, and many other opinions, our love will save us-and it truly has!!!)

-"all the roads that lead to you were winding, and all the lights that light the way are blinding"
(it seemed we'd never find our soulmate, but we did!!)

this song is really special to me because its the song between me and my first love.
i think it just sums up everything that was involved in that relationship.
We were so young and that line;
"there are many things that i would like to say to you but i dont know how"
is the TRUEST line of any song i've ever heard.
i was 16 at the time and youre feeling these things that you cant seem to articulate and they scare you because you dont know yourself.
and because we were young and just crazy out of our minds we fought because we couldnt say what we needed to say.
but as much as we fought there was still that crazy crazy love between us that brought us together
"maybe youre gonna be the one that saves me"
and anyone who had a teenage rollercoaster love knows that that's JUST how it is!
i'm still great friends with the guy and i've had a lot of relationships since but none come close to how amazing that first love was.
wonderwall is my favourite song ever and my most played by far.
i think it's just about love and everything that love is.
not to be a hopeless romantic or anything.

wordsarelife, that's sweet, or bittersweet lolz... but yeah, this song is rich, one of my favorites by oasis. when he sings 'i don't believe that anybody feels the way i do about you now' it's so full of emotion- i love it.

I'm sure there's a lot of interpretations like mine already, but I'ma go for it anyways. :)

I think it's basically about someone you love a lot (a friend, family member, or anyone really). They meant so much to you, but now they're slipping downwards and becoming a crappy person.. in your eyes at least. You want to tell the person how mad you are at him or her, but it seems that every time you talk to them, you can't bring yourself to be mean even though they might treat you like shizzy nizzy sometimes, because you know that you need them.

To irisheyes4683:

I truly pity you. To say that Jesus is the only person that can provide that kind of love is just sad. One day you'll fall in love, and then you'll understand exactly what I'm saying. When I'm feeling upset, Jesus doesn't comfort me. If you truly love someone, though, just being near them is the greatest feeling in the world.

Anyway, this song is absolutely incredible. And here's my opinion on the Beatles: Yes, the Beatles were much more important to music than Oasis and that's what makes them a great band. I will say that I like Oasis more because I enjoy their music more than that of the Beatles. To be honest, I don't really enjoy listening to the Beatles. Yes, they were probably the most important band of all time, but not necessarily the most enjoyable to listen to.

Well, this song is really special to me and is honestly my favorite song right now.

This song reminds me of my last boyfriend and of this past summer.

I was abroad and communicating with my then really good guy friend. I had really given up on love and he was always trying to get me to believe again.
I ended up falling for him over the summer and one night, the night before I made my trip back to the U.S. my dad and I were walking and this guy
was singing this song. He had an accent that made
it hard to understand him but it was this song and I stopped, just awestruck. The rest of the night I couldn't stop thinking of this song and this boy and I thought it was just a sign that I should take a chance on him., that he was going to be the one that saved me.

This is a great song from an amazing album. I mean, the album is superb. I guess I'm not an Oasis fan because I only have What's the Story (Morning Glory), but I absolutely adore it.

I'm not certain what this song is about, but I'll take a stab at it. I feel like it concerns a man who loves a woman, but she's in a state of depression. The "fire in her heart is out," and he has to explain to her that "roads we have to walk are blinding" and that the "lights are blinding" - the trials and tribulations of life, basically. He wants to pull her out of her funk and tells her of an opportunity: "Today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you." Nonetheless, despite her severe sadness, he feels she will save him, as opposed to the other way around.

And he loves her, even though she screws up: "Today was gonna be the day but they'll never throw it back to you." Fortunately, there is still hope in the love that they share, even though it may be all she has.

Its about a friend that means everything to the singer. Both have their ups and downs in life but have a connection to eachother that seems inbreakable. Whenever somthing else goes wrong, one can seek consolation and confidence in the other.

Maybe theyre meant to be together. But, to try and be wrong would risk what they already have.

Wonderwall: Unexplainable source of support. No matter what, it's always there for you.

Like other people in here, I am a big fan of the Ryan Adams version, it's really great, but this is also great. Ryan Adams changes the song into a titally different one, so when I listen to the two tracks, I don't really think about the fact, that it's the same song, cos each artist brings something different to the song. Although, I must say, this is my favorite version. Oasis forever!

I think it's about lovers, but that theory fits almost every song, so I guess I'm not contributing with anything new here, but like I said, I think it is, like many other great songs, about love gone wrong. The road has been long and winding, but now, they finally realized that they have a problem, and they're gonna try to work it out, cos "afterall, you're my wonderwall", and "you're gonna be the one that saves me".

wonderwall is a 1968 movie about a guy who sees light coming out of a hole in his wall and follows to find his photographer neighbor and his model girlfriend on the other side. he becomes enfatuated with their lives, or more specifically, her life, drilling more holes in the wall and even missing work to peer in on their arguments. they break up, she od's on drugs and passes out and he tries to come to her rescue.

This song now is representing a really important part in my life.
I have a best friend who has gone through a lot of bad bad things in her life. She's basically lived in emotional pain her entire life and she's nearly to the point where she is numb to everything.
Through late night conversations I've been trying to help her with her emotional baggage and such. We both have loved this song and it was brought up last night. Where I asked if I could be the one who saves her. She responded, "God, I hope so." And so do I.
And so... I am trying to be her "wonderwall." I am trying to save her in a way. Very special meaning in this song for us.

this song is so amazing when i first listened to it as a little kid i just that it was an amazing love song but as i read into the history of noel gallagher he wrote it while he was addicted to drugs and he wasn't even writing a certain person it was more of an imaginary girl who would save him that she's going to be the one that saves him from himself and thats what i think we all want a wonderwall being more of an idea or a life saving moment rather than a person

I love the lyrics to this song
They're so powerful
But I really wish that a good band would remake it
Because I don't think that the frontman of Oasis has much talent for singing
