Lyrics for Wonderwall as interpreted by kevin

Wonderwall Lyrics
Today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you
By now you shoulda somehow realized what you gotta do
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now
Back beat, the word is on the street that the fire in your heart is
out
I'm sure you've heard it all before but you never really had a doubt
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now
And all the roads we have to walk are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you
But I don't know how
Because maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
And after all
You're my wonderwall
Today was gonna be the day but they'll never throw it back to you
By now you shoulda somehow realized what you're not to do
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now
And all the roads that lead you there were winding
And all the lights that light the way are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you
But I don't know how
I said maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
And after all
You're my wonderwall
I said maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
And after all
You're my wonderwall
I said maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
You're gonna be the one that saves me
You're gonna be the one that saves me

this is the best song of rock and roll, its as simple as that even though it was written cause well noel gallagher's ex wife got fired and he wanted to cheer her up. it fits perfectly,
" By now you shoulda somehow realized what you gotta do
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now
Back beat, the word is on the street that the fire in your heart is
out
I'm sure you've heard it all before but you never really had a doubt
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now
And all the roads we have to walk are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you
But I don't know how"
its a beautiful and no one can ever make anything close to this song.

I too, think this is about that 'special person'

IMO these 2 lines sum it up.

"And all the roads WE have to walk are winding"

Up to this part in the song, they are together or trying to work it out, and on the verge of ending it.

"And all the roads that lead YOU there were winding"

And by this time, they are apart. Notice its only her taking those roads.

I am going to play this song at my wedding in the near future, but im going to sing the fist verse again, right after the second. Wonder if anyone will catch on?

No, Oasis is not greater than the Beatles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it hadn't been for The Beatles, there would be no Oasis. Have you ever seen Liam? He's always wearing a Beatles T-Shirt. He even said that "I want to sound like John Lennon."

John Lennon influenced him!!!

I think this song Wonderwall was taken from George Harrison's demo tape. Really! So, the Oasis are not greater than the Beatles, ok?

God, I Love Liam!!!

I love this song, all my life I've been waiting for someone to say to me that, "You're my Wonderwall." I hope my soulmate would say that to me. hehehe...;P

Probably the catchiest song of all time, not great lyrically though. I keep it on my ipod anyways.

p.s. the Beatles were definitely the most popular band of all time; but not necessarily the best. Many of their songs were strictly written for commercial success. . . is J-Lo really a more talented musician/artist than Conor Oberst? definitely not. (I'm not saying the beatles were not talented because they knew how to make music that a lot of people could listen to)... but it all depends on how u measure success

i see this as a girl who first turned him down, but now shes rethinking it and seeing what she really should have done. and he's just telling her that he still feels the same, and will always feel the same for her, no matter what. and that through it all she's the one who's going to save him.

i don't think there is a connection.
to me this song is about a guy that is going through alot of shit in his life at that point, but still loves this girl obviously. and she is his "wonderwall" because she is there for him, and helos him through it all.
he has alot to say to her but he doesnt know how because of all thats going on, or because of other things.
its not that they "cant be together" because liam[or whoever wrote this], wrote this about his then wife, or girlfriend?

When I saw them in concert, before they played this song Liam said "This song's for all the ugly girls."

Just a little anecdote for you.

Why does everyone love this song? Oasis' other songs have been so much better. Example: The Masterplan, Where Did All Go Wrong.... then again I think Noel's better than Liam *scratchs head*

perhaps wonderwall isn't great lyrically compared to other songs, but what it is is an honest song. the lyrics are pretty much straight forward and liam sings with such emotion, some what melancholic.

This song is o.k. certainly not the best Oasis song. Good sing-a-long and came out at the right time and was certainly a strong song at the time of its released compared to to others, but if it was released in the mid-late 60s or late 70s or mid 80s it would have been one of many other good songs of the time.
Oasis are good but they cannot be compared to the likes of The Stones or Beatles until they have been around as long as these bands. The issue is in the body of work they leave and its timelessness twenty-thrirty years later. Whther you like the Stones or The Beatles it cannot be denied that much of their work is known by many and has stood the test of time. Perhaps Oasis wll be seen to have similar status in 2025. I doubt it - perhaps a handful of songs will be seen as great. Many of their tunes sound like the Beatles, Stones and other late 60s bands in any case.
This song is lyrically one of their better ones but I prefer earlier songs by other artists reflecting the same sentiment about someone's inspiration and salvation - such as The Waterboy's Whole of the Moon.

Regardless of what it meant when it was written, this song always makes me think of football, because it reminds me of the way fans talk about their football heroes - especially young kids who have them pinned up as posters on their wall - their 'wonderwall' perhaps. So when I hear this song I always imagine it's a kid lying on his bed talking to the poster as if to the real 'hero' about what the papers or media or public are saying about them and that he still believes in them and that they will 'save' his club from relegation or whatever.

I have to admit to a sneaking feeling that Noel Gallagher meant all this about some Man City player when he wrote it, but felt it would be uncool to say it. Much better to say 'oh, Meg I wrote it for you'. I could be wrong about that too.

But if that was 'your' team, they'd mean everything to you if you supported them. (Although agreed about the rest).

this song is basically a classic for my generation...i was probably in sixth or seventh grade when i first heard it, and now, as a college senior whose graduation day is coming in about five weeks, it's taken on a whole new meaning.

at the end of every formal that my fraternity has, we have the dj play this song. my fraternity brothers are my wonderwall, and, at the last formal this was played at, all of us seniors actually cried during it because it was probably the last time we'd hear it together.

amazing shit, oasis.
