I don't know if this has anything to do with the song but there is a film called wonderwall about a guy who falls in love with his next door neighbour. However his next door neighbour doesn't know him let alone his feelings so he makes a hole in the wall so he can watch her in her house. (i don't know how it ends this is just the blurb i read).

I mention it because some of the lyrics fit with this:

"I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now" he is truely in love with her, so much so he has to see her all the time.

"There are many things that I would like to say to you/But I don't know how" He thinks she doesn't even know who he is so how can he poor out his heart to her

"You're gonna be the one that saves me" He is trapped. He loves her so much but knows he can never be with her so he is trapped in this limbo; he can't date others coz he loves her too much, but he will never be with her.

Throughout the song it gives me the impression of there being something stopping him getting what he wants. He can see it but cannot touch it. i.e. he can see through the wall but can't get the other side of.

However the maybe makes it seem as if there may be a glimer of hope, something for him to change his thoughts perhaps. For example in the film she says hi to him and gradually they talk more and more often, giving him hope that maybe someday they could be at least friends.
Well this is my 2pence (for what it's worth) and although you may think it a load of bull, that is the way i am going to think of it, and why it is one of my three favourite songs of all time ever.

Wow...this and champagne supernova are officially the greatest songs I have EVER heard.When it came out, my sister was in college and she loved this stuff and of course I didn't get it. When I started college last year I heard this one day and something just clicked...Such a powerful song....Who out there has NEVER had something to say to that one person and didn't know how.Every time I hear this I have to stop what I'm doing and just listen. It requires my attention.The lyrics really hit me when one day this summer my boyfriend and I were driving home from the gym and this came on the radio.It was just one of those perfect days and I looked at him and realized he's my very own wonderwall. Definitely one of those songs that can bring back a flood of memories. And theres just so much passion behind what he's saying...wish I could know what was in his head when he came up with it.

The song describes, to me, the feeling of someone has for another, who means so much to them, their wonderwall. However, the girl in this case has just been through with another relationship that ended sourly. So he tries...the guy is trying to tell her how much she means to him, but it only stays in his heart. He struggles with the expression of these emotions, and tries to drop clues as to how he feels. However, as he can only do so much, he has to wait and see fi she responds to him in the same and looks forward for hope.

this song is just ... amazing.
and, thankfully, the guitar part is really easy to play. I performed this song for my boyfriend one year, before we started dating, and he loved it. This song really is about someone who feels strongly about someone who just got their heart broken (the fire in your heart is out) and the guy knows he's never going to be able to be with her because of that (but they'll never throw it back to you). but, he still says that she is his wonderwall. beautiful song!

I love this song. I just heard it for the first time. My best friend gave me the lyrics when he asked me to be his girlfriend. he's my wonderwall, and this song is perfect. Even so, no one is better than the beatles. Anyone who thinks they are better than the beatles has a personality problem.

I just realized that I didn't put anything about what I think the song means. I tend to subscribe to the belief that it is about romantic love and I'm going to play the role of the gushy girlfriend. My best friend and I have known each other for forever and have been friends almost as long, but I started to see him as something different, which could have really screwed us up, but it didn't. And both of us have had difficult times recently, and neither one of us are good at expressing ourselves, but he gave me this song to let me know that he knew there would be problems, but he was finally ready to face them together. He told me, "I'm not scared, and I'm not going to hide anymore". This song means so much to me, and I've only ever heard it once. I'm jump up and down deliriously happy, and no matter what anyone says, this song is a message of hope and new beginnings. at least it is for me. love is scary, but you know that you're walking the road with someone beside you the whole time.

i love this song! i think its about someone who is sooooo in love with this other person, and they look to them as their wonderwall. wonderwall being something that when they look at it, they are just, awestruck, and look at it in all its beauty and wonder. sorta like when i look at my girlfriend. i heart k.a.e. soo much! this is her song!

god this song is amazing.

As usual the lyrics do not make a huge deal of sense as its oasis, but the emotion they communicate is genious. To me, this song has always meant that a wonderwall is basically everything, as in 'after all you're my everything'.

Its this part that really does it for me:

I don';t believe that anyobody feels the way i do about you now explains itself. The part about the roads winding wtc, I think is about how life is so unpredictable.
The next part, he/she is so crazy about someone and has so much they'd love to say to them, but they dont know how. The hope that somehow this someone will come to them is communicated with the line, ' maybe you're gonne be the one that saves me'..
because afetr all you're my wonderwall.

Everyone has someone who is their wonderwall. But i dont think the meanign of thsi song even matters, it is simply a beautifully emotionally song which I dont think will ever get old. I want it played at my funeral above everything else.

im in LOVE with the way noel puts his songs together. its great how he says in the beginning, "Today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you
