Lyrics for Wonderwall as interpreted by kevin

Wonderwall Lyrics
Today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you
By now you shoulda somehow realized what you gotta do
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now
Back beat, the word is on the street that the fire in your heart is
out
I'm sure you've heard it all before but you never really had a doubt
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now
And all the roads we have to walk are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you
But I don't know how
Because maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
And after all
You're my wonderwall
Today was gonna be the day but they'll never throw it back to you
By now you shoulda somehow realized what you're not to do
I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now
And all the roads that lead you there were winding
And all the lights that light the way are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you
But I don't know how
I said maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
And after all
You're my wonderwall
I said maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
And after all
You're my wonderwall
I said maybe
You're gonna be the one that saves me
You're gonna be the one that saves me
You're gonna be the one that saves me

i dont understand why they change from "all the roads we have to walk are winding" to "all the roads that lead you there were winding" because im sure any other band would have just left it the same. so im sure there's a reason. and also they start of with "today...." and at the end they say "and maybe youre gonna be the one to save me" and thats talking about the future. to me you have to understand this to understand the song. but i dont know, thats just me.

Who really cares about whether or not the Beatles are better than Oasis. You might think so, you might not. Everyone has their own opinion. This isn't Oasis Vs. Beatles anyhow.

I think it's easier to take the song for face value as a love song and leave it at that. Most, if not all the lyrics point to it being about a girl the writer loved, and going through all the complications of loving someone and finally naming them some nonsensical word that fits your description of true love.

to me, this song is about a person you love, obviously, but not only that, it's about a person who has been in your life for a very long time. it seems like all of the chances you have with each other you keep missing out on, or messing up, and life keeps throwing you lemons and curveballs, but in the end you know you'll make it through it all, as long as you have each other.

to me, the whole "wonderwall" thing... basically means that the person, when they're with them, acts as a barrier between the person singing and all of the shit in their life. so basically, when you are with the person you love(your wonderwall) they block everything bad out and all you see is that person and the love you share.

This song always reminds me of a friend that I had (she was my best friend at one time). I gave her a chance and she blew it. The line 'I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now' especially means something to me cause she let me down and I have never felt so disappointed in my life. I am sure that the song isn't supposed to be taken like that but it is what comes to mind when I hear it. I do love the song though.

Well, when this song first came out, I was six, so I don't remember much. When I first heard it, though, I was in my Lord of the Rings phase, and what I heard in it was Sam talking to Frodo, and Frodo talking to Sam, just as they arrive in Mordor. *geek*
Seriously. Everything about knowing what he's gotta do and such, but especially how "and all the roads we have to walk are winding / and all the lights that lead us there are blinding" what with the walking to Mordor and the Phial of Galadriel and such.

I was thinking that maybe "wonderwall" could be thought as a wall. Not a wall as in a boundary, but giving a sense of security. So wonderwall could be translated into a guardian for security for life in which one loves.

Also, what does the line "Today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back to you" mean? It doesn't seem to make sense in the context of "you're my friend and i secretly love you" deal.

THis song is about a guy and a girl who broke up.The "Today is gonna be the day" means that she should have made things better betweeen the two of them. She says the love is gone but shes heard that before and it never meant anything. The "Wonderwall" in the song is the girl. She is the boys strength. And "today was gonna be the day but theyll never throw it back to you"means that she screwed things up and could have fixed them but now it is too late! AMAZING SONG MY FAVORITE AHHH

I don't really understand what exactly "wonderwall" means. But the rest of the song is sooo beautiful! It's gotta be my favorite song. It's something you can listen to over and over again and never get sick of it. Also the whole oasis/beatles thing. Even if some people like Oasis's style better than the Beatles, that style would have never existed if it weren't for the Beatles. The Beatles created the style that everybody goes with now. Yeah, it's obviously changed and everyone has their variation, but the Beatles created it and without them Oasis wouldn't have their style. Still love them though!! Love the song!!

I've always wondered about this song, but had a very different interpretation than those I've read, though, ironically, related to the whole Beatles argument.

The Beatles are the singer's (i.e., Oasis') "Wonderwall" This song is being sung to the Beatles. The hint is in the name. George Harrison (the Beatle) had an album called Wonderwall Music with a song (instrumental) also called Wonderwall on it.

All that stuff about "throwing it back to you" and "the fire in your heart is out" then "never going to throw it back to you" etc., is saying how the Beatles were an important force that were a source of nostalgia (hence it was going to be thrown back to them), but that there time has passed (hence, they'll never throw it back). In essence, Oasis is claiming that they have taken the torch from the Beatles, while acknowledging their debt "your my wonderwall" and appreciation "I don't believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now." In other words, 25 years after the Beatles, only Oasis fully appreciates them (says Oasis). All that stuff about winding roads and blinding lights is about life in a rock band, fame, etc., that Oasis sees themselves sharing with the beatles. . .

Actually the beatles didn't create that style. Buddy Holly did. The only reason that they even called themselves the Beatles is because they wanted it to sound like the band that Holly had been in before (the Crickets). Not saying that the Beatles aren't great...they just weren't the first is all. :)

to speak on the Beatles, i noticed that Rolling Stone had the greatest cds in there a while back and S. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band was in there as number 1, personally, i think the Beatles suck besides a few songs, there were tons of bands back then better, Elvis was better, Bob Dylan is better, The Rolling Stones were better, so many.....Oasis on the other hand are a pretty good band but obviously not to par with any of the greats.

Elvis Sucks (how in the hell did we end up talking about elvis). Good and Bad music is very personal, who cares, but you have to accept the cultural significance of the beatles anyway. Without beatles no oasis whithout oasis no wonderwall which is such a great song but it get me tired when ppl only know this oasis song (only if you dont live in britain obviosly).

its to me about that one person you can't stop thinking about. maybe not the person who you want to have a relationship with at that point in time, but who, in the end you really care about the most.
the person you sit with and know what they're thinking about you and you know they feel the same, but still you have that thought of, 'there are many things that i would like to say to you, but i don't know how."

the person you could talk to for hours, but you can't seem to think of how to say what really matters. they confuse you because you love them so much, and that's where teh maybe comes in. and the maybe is also about how much risk it is to just let yourself love someone with all your heart when you're not sure, you can never be sure if t hey really ARE, "the one thats gonna save [you]" this is my song with a person, and i couldn't ask for anything else to say how i feel. (not to be wordy)
