Little James, we're all the same
They always seem to look to us
But we weren't meant to be grown ups
Thank you for your smile
You make it all worthwhile to us

You live for your toys, even though they make noise
Have you ever played with plastercine
Or even tried a trampoline
Thank you for your smile
You make it all worthwhile to us

I'm singing this song for you and your mum that's all
'cause it won't be long before everyone is gone

Sailed out to sea, your mum you and me
You swam the ocean like a child
Life around us was so wild
Thank you for your smile
You make it all worthwhile to us

I'm singing this song for you and your mum that's all
And it won't be long before everyone is gone

General Comment:The songs Liam writes some off them are good, but others they're so bad its funny, the lyrics to this song are just awful but you have to keep listening to it.

General Comment:It's not Liam's best work, I agree. Personally, I feel as though he wrote this shortly after listening to John Lennon's "Beautiful Boy" (written about Sean). Is Little James comparable in quality? Not even close (but c'mon, we're talking about John Lennon). Nevertheless, as the lyrics do say "I'm singing this song for you and your mom and that's all" I don't think Liam would really care what everyone thinks of it. As most people should have learned from "I Am The Walrus", a song is more than just lyrics, and this site is for discussing the meaning of the song not the quality of the lyrics. I'd like to throw in that, to date, Liam's best work is "I'm Outta Time", closely followed by "Songbird".

General Comment:I'm sorry, but what's with this "it's written for a child so it's allowed to be rubbish" attitude? Most children are perfectly capable of listening to and absorbing real words and sentences without being talked down to and patronised as if they were idiots, and the world would be a much better place if more adults realised that. If a 10-year-old handed this in for a poetry assignment my in English class, I'd give it a cursory tick and a 'C' grade and move on with my life, safe in the knowledge that the pupil in question must have skills in other areas than the use of language. Knowing that it comes from the pen of a grown-up means it can only be interpreted as a half-arsed piece of writing by a talentless fraud, and the idea that anyone could take it seriously is frankly laughable.

General Comment:Liam probably claims to have written it in 10 minutes because he is a little embarrassed that its simple, but its designed to be that. It is written for a child.

If you stop for a second, close your eyes and believe you are that child, listen to it from that perspective and it becomes touching and sorrowful as we ask ourselves: "Why won't it be long before everyone is gone?". After all we are suddenly 10 year old children trying to grasp the concept of mortality, something that even in adulthood we never really accept.

Liam is probably not the brightest thinker, this can be proven by many of his interviews and his style of song writing sometimes, unlike his older brother but they are both extremely talented in their own way and I respect him for being himself as much as he can.

Love you Oasis, keep singing from the heart.

General Comment:To those who hate this song: who killed your inner child? Lighten up. The song is written for a child; the lyrics are childish. Grow up and break out of your little cage of permanent, stiff-necked 'maturity.'

General Comment:I have always been a big oasis fan but i always quote this song when having the discussion of 'Worst song lyrics ever'.

    this is absolute toss
"Have you ever played with plastercine
    Or even tried a trampoline"

Digsy's Dinner had bad lyrics but at least it was upbeat and Liams enthusiasm made it sound good.

    - however Liam more than made up for it with Songbird.

General Comment:"This song goes to prove that this guy is absolutely rounded and the best musician since John Lennon in my opinion"

And comment is proof you don't know what the fuck you're on about.

General Comment:Ha Ha the haters are here)()(()()()()

What is wrong with you fools?

Where are the lyrics so bad?
These lyrics are certainly better than most-----actually caring , hark!-----

What's so Funny to me, is that few bands are hated as much as OaSiS, and here the silly oasis fans are killing their own!
Grow up, and have the courage to appreciate a man willing to bare his sole a touch without sounding like Dylan.

and this lyric is as good as anything Oasis has written so just sit down.
