Failed coercion
Leads to intrusion
And the blood forever runs

In her head
Into her hands
Between her legs
Where his mind lies

Power drives him in
To murder innocence
On the rack of his devices
Vices and designs
She will never scrub the stains
From her arms from her neck
From her legs

The dirt will remain
As a reminder
Of his hateful face
Break in
Rip apart the inner fibers
Of her soul

Boy you'll never know how it feels to fear the shame
Feel free to walk down any dark street without fear
Without shame no one is gonna touch you
And you don't need protection
She shouldn't need protection!

And you can sit there
With that stupid smile on your face
And try to convince me that you care

Defined by your power
Defined by her body

The innocence she feels
Everybody else contains
It's lost it's gone
But i guess it doesn't matter anyway

Break in
Rip apart the inner fibers
Of her soul

And you can sit there
With that stupid smile on your face
And try to convince me that you care

Defined by your power
Defined redefined
Fucked tortured and discarded
Fucked tortured and discarded
Fucked tortured and discarded

And if he ever cares maybe he will feel ashamed
For everything he's stolen for all the trust she gave
Possessed and broken she cries
But it's not our problem
Pull down your goddamn blinds
He will never think he's wrong
She will never feel quite right
He will never think he's wrong
She will never feel quite right
You will never think he's wrong
You will never think he's wrong
You will never think you're wrong
She will never feel quite right

General Comment:It's from the Snapcase split. I prefer that version, but really they aren't all that different.

General Comment:this song is very powerful.
    the opening
"failed coercion - leads to intrusion"
leads to it maybe being a date rape or in a bar somewhere, as someone said - they tried to get on with each other but the guy wanted more...
and "with that stupid smile on your face, and try to convince me that you care" - his attempts to persuade himself that she wanted it too.

"pull down your goddamn blinds" - how people just turn their heads and refuse to notice what is happening/has happened.

General Comment:i agree with shortgirl. also look at the first line. also, do you think nathan is addressing someone he knows personally. as scary as it is, it seems like that to me.

also, are there two versions of this song? where are they from?

General Comment:i think what he means by "you will never thinks he's wrong" is that the victim will never think it is his fault because she blames herself for what happened

General Comment:i've been thinking about this song... I think its more than just rape. She lost her virginity during this sexual encounter... the images of "breaking in" present this idea. Also the fact that trust is hinted at and what not. Just an idea but i think it is related to that.

General Comment:i don't get the end "you will never think he's wrong"... the overall opinion here is that "rape is wrong" so why wouldn't we think he was wrong... :\!

General Comment:i love this song... but as some of the words are hard to make out when he sings them i didn't realise it was about rape till well now. It's powerful, but I think the lines "and you can sit there with a stupid smile on your face and try to convince me that you care" are definately among the most powerful... because you never actually think about the person who raped... and really, when you think about it if it was a husband that raped or whatever, they'd probably beg for forgiveness, pretend to be sorry but really they wouldn't. amazing =)

General Comment:puts rape into a eye-opening perspective, and how the results can scar a person very emotionaly.
