I like the way that I make you itch
And all the reasons I give you to bitch
And how I make you wanna scream in pain
And feel your life is just a losing game
I like the way that you let me in
The way you look when the walls cave it
I like the way that your stomach knots
And how you cry for it all to stop
I like the way that you fool yourself
And make believe there's nobody else
I like the way that you stand in line
And beg salvation from the empty skies
Don't want no revenge
Ain't no pay back time
It ain't called getting even
Here comes the Reckoning Day
I like the things that you try to fake
And your face when I see you break
And that you say you will pray for me
You realize you are prey for me
I like the way you stay on attack
No matter what, I keep coming back
And how you try to hold me down
But you end up driven to the ground

General Comment:This song - at least, as far as im concerened - is about drug abuse, specifically heroin. Its lyrics were written by Dave n' Dave and its a) well documented that theyve been raging heroin addicts (the whole band was at one point, if not several) and b) the several references in the song such as the physical symptoms of a high "itch/bitch", symptoms of withdrawl; "stomach knots/stop", anyone whos been hooked knows what this is about and how helpless you feel at this point whixh leadas nicely into how you'd do anything to get a fix regardless of how much it costs, how big a victim you become and personal angusih it causes; "Pray/prey" and "Attack/Back", and how you in the end pay with your life for your folley; "in the ground".

Anyway, thats my two cents. It makes sense to me. People will always project their own experiences into lyrics that are open to translation and i can kinda see what some of the others here have supposed the song could mean but still, im reckoning day wrong and im right. Hehe ;p

    Peace

General Comment:This definitely sounds like it's about an abusive and/or parasitic relationship in which one of the partners (9 times out of 10, the male) is trying to control the other by "keeping them in their place" so they can be free to do whatever they want, while their partner deals with their dirty laundry and gets treated like a dog. Especially the lines, "And that you say you will pray for me, You realize you are prey for me" it's saying how the abused partner wants the other to change, but they're not going to change because they're only in the relationship because they crave the feeling of power and control over their partner. Great song and very catchy, but people like this make me sick.

General Comment:This song is amazing. Its like Dave reads my mind. If I were to write lyrics they would sound just like this. I think we think alike. Everything he says and every lyric he writes makes sense to me and touches the core of my soul. I understand the man.

General Comment:This song is about Religion vs. Atheism or more specifically, Conservatism vs. Liberalism.
All the things Dave says about the other side is consistent along with the things he says about himself. This could also be about Rock&Metal vs. Mainstream.
After all, we don't want revenge, pay back or to get even. We just want a Reckoning.
